Recommendation for Riverside CA area dealership for check engine light?

Hi, I just drove down from Oregon to visit my family and on my drive down my check engine light came on around Sacramento. Made an appointment with Riverside Mazda to bring the car in today at 9am. Well sat around until about 3pm and started calling them to get an update....figuring that they just needed to scan for the CEL code and let me know what was up. First time I called, they hung up on me after asking for my name...second time I called back I was put on hold for 10 minutes...3rd time I called I finally got ahold of the service manager. He tells me that the mechanic just got to the car. Okay, so I wait another 45 minutes for him to call me back to let me know that the real reason why they haven't been able to tell me anything is because their computers aren't able to communicate with Mazda currently. Gee, thanks for waiting a full day to let me know.

I was hoping to be able to drive back home this weekend. I need to find a good place to take my car because I'm not going to leave it at Riverside Mazda for another day. Any recommendations for a decent dealership or service shop in the Riverside California area? :o:

Thanks,
Anna

Um.. the guys at Norco Mazda (where I got my 8) are cool. Just take the 60 to the 15.

I took my car to mazda of san bernadino and they had excellent service there. Before taking my car there I took it to riverside mazda and they told me that they couldn't diagnose my car due because their machine kept failing to read the cel code. I wouldn't recommend going there.

Just wanted to say thanks for the recommendations and feedback on Riverside Mazda. I just went ahead and came home to Oregon. Seems that my car must just not like California gas cause once I filled it up in Oregon the check enging light went off. :)

..and you're ok with that? I know it sucks to be without your ride, but it might be worth it to find out what is causing the cel to light up like that.

Is there a chance the gas cap was loose or is not making a good seal?
That causes a CEL too doesn't it?

Oh sorry, didn't think I'd post it before, but yeah, I'm taking it to my local dealer on Friday for something else, so I'm going to have them see if they can find anything about it. I thought when it first went on while driving down to CA that it might be a loose seal on the gas cap but I had to fill up numerous times and it stayed on all the time until I hit OR. Talked to my dad about it and he thought that the sensor just might be picking up something in the CA gas. Who knows. I'll worry about it if it comes on up here. :)
