Question about selling my car

I really don't know what will be a fair price if i'm going to sell my car, can anyone help me out, i've seen range from 18000 to 25000. i don't know what my car worth, here's some info about my car:
2004 Sport package 6 speed hard top, no spoiler MP3 player, lighted shift knob black/black black cloth interior Veilside D1-GT full kit 19X8.5 front 19X9.5 rear SF Challenge gun metal with VF cap toyo T1-S 245/35 front 275/30 rear rotora slotted disc X 4 red-out brake calipers 22XXX mileage oil change every 1,500 to 2,000 miles with record, all work perform by dealer perfect clean car fax, never been in any kind of accident recent tuned up include spark plug, and air filter never been mod, everything stock everything under factory warranty everything in working and mint condition, still have the new car smell. |
You'd be better off parting it out, and selling it for $21k. Unfortunately you just have the sport package, so you don't have a lot of room to make deals. I think you can get a 04 GT for $23-25k. And all your mods do is decrease the value, unless you sell it to someone who is into the same thing. Good luck. I'd say I'd miss you, but you've never showed up at any of the meets, so theres nothing to miss. :evil_laug

yeah i really think u should part it out. and put it back to stock
|
You'd lose a ton of money trying to sell the car with all those appearance mods. For sure you should turn it back to stock, sell the car and sell the parts separately.
|
part it out. Im sure you get good money for those parts. Also you repainted your entire vehicle which hurts its overall value. Like what everybody said you can salvage what you have by just selling all those parts.
|
parting it out will be a lot trouble, and leave the car nothing valuable, i don't know, i was thinking everything on, and ask for $28K, that's give some room to negociate.

Resale for Rx-8 is pretty shoddy. At least here in So Cal. I saw some 10k miles used Rx-8s GTs for 23.5k. Base models used about 21k, and Sports about 22k.
|
y r u selling anyways?
|
i no longer have the stock rims. and i really think it's a lot of work to get it back to stock form. with 2K in kits and 4K in rims tires and rotors, there's 6K on the mod , as if my car is only in fair condition and it's only a sport package , i'll give it $21K, plus 5K instead of 6K in mods because everything in great shape. does $26K sounds reasonable to you?
|
still too much. The best you will get with the car looking like that is 20-21k. I know it sounds harsh but thats the truth. go see what a dealer will pay, and you will see exactly what your looking at.
Let me know if you want some stock parts, I know people who still have their stock parts. Your better off selling it peice by peice. Sorry man. Good luck. ~omar |
Mods, you're going to get around 1/2 if you're lucky for the value of those items... Sport you're going to get around 19k or so for Sports Pack, mods maybe 2.5k at most. So about 21.5k-22k maybe.
You have to understand that when people buy cars, they want the most option on a car for the highest resale value. Which means the GT with Navs. will have a better value than just GT, and GT better than Sports, than base..etc. It gets exponentially less as you get lower in the type of class of the car. Imagine what a base model would look like. For instance.. check out this guy's listing, he's been trying to sell this for over a month now on Craigslist at 20k... 11k miles on it, no luck. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/car/134180806.html He'll probably end up getting 17k maybe, since it's Base model. If you really want to make money, part the car. Parting cars out you'll actually make something... image parting the entire car, you'll see what I mean. |
From a buyer's point of view, I'd want my Rx-8 as stock as possible. I HATE having mods on a car I'm about to buy. As someone above stated, most people think that modding a car will increase a car's value. In reality, its the opposite. I don't car if the Rx-8 produces 350HP. I'd rather buy a stock one if theyre both the same price.
In most cases, if someone wants a modded car, they want to be the ones modding and selecting the wheels/bodykit/rice equipment themselves. I've seen 600 hp vipers sell for the same price as a higher mileage stock viper (same year, same condition). Cars are not investments. I would seriously pick up a set of used stock wheels and parts from ebay, and sell the other parts seperately. It might be a hassle, but you'll A) Make more money B) Make more money faster. Good luck. |
it's about a 20k car .. thats including your mods .. blame mazda for the 05 deals .. my advice .. wait for the 05 stock to sell out before you list yours
|
and you have to remember appearance mods are opinionated .. some ppl may love it and some wont even consider it because of the look
