Next event at Firebird (San Tan 202 and I-10) is in about a month, check it out. If it interests you then cruise around the forums and register for HPDE1 to get a taste of what it's like to be out on a road course. There will be two race prepped RX-8's there, mine and another member of this forum, username is yale02, as well as a couple other 8's that range from stock to basic bolt ons. Lots of cool stuff to see.
And if you just want to watch the first time you come to an event, it's free to hang out and possibly get some rides out on the track. Here's the link to the schedule: NASA AZ » Schedule Here's the link to the info thread about the next event: http://forums.nasaaz.com/showthread.php?t=5128 And also read this, it'll give you all the info you need: NASA AZ » Blog Archive » Getting Started |
Yeah man, check out NASA AZ. You'll love it! And, be sure to say hi...

They're having a track addicts summer event (start at 06:00 to finish at 10:00) next weekend the 18th on the FIR West track. The regular season resumes Labor Day weekend down in Wilcox, and there are roughly monthly events at FIR starting in October. We also run at AMP if you can pass their noise test. Personally I prefer the Pond's atmosphere to NASA, where things can get almost SCCA-like. The one danger is that you'll see how much fun we're having in the open-wheel group and be tempted to sell your rotary for a Formula Ford. At least my [3rd Gen] found a good home locally.. ^ I do the ProAuto events too, they are fun. You're right about the open wheel cars, every time I see them I want to trade in for one.

So will we be seeing you at INDE on Labor Day weekend? That's gotta be the closest track to Sierra Vista and what a track it is! We'll even be running a half day Friday afternoon. Look for the black with orange stripe vintage FF and say hello.
