I had fun on Saturday.
I especially like the picture of me (yellow RX-8) going through the water.
Keep in mind that the night before I had my car detailed and waxed.
That water was painful to drive through.
---My idea for the next meet.---
On the RX-7 forum, it was suggested to drive through Big Bear and have a BBQ in Redlands.
I think those are 2 good ideas for 2 separate meets. If we did both the same day, it would be a very long day, and many people wouldn’t be able to stay for both activities.
Big Bear –
I think Big Bear would be fun, but you can't drive as fast through that area.
I work for Southern California Edison in Redlands, and we have employees that take that road several times a day. They’ve told me cops are all over the mountain in speed traps looking for people racing around.
I think it would be a good scenic drive, especially if we take a drive around the lake, but it's risky to go fast cuz of the cops.
In addition, we could go into the town, and eat at some local spot.
Obviously, a drive to Big Bear would depend on the weather, so we should have a back-up plan.
BBQ –
Maybe in couple of months when we’re sure to have warmer weather. We could take a shorter drive that day, and then take over a park somewhere.
And finally –
Last meet we threw around the idea of meeting another day besides the 1st Saturday, maybe the 2nd Saturday, to give more people the opportunity to join us.
Besides the 1st Saturday gets affected by more holidays, which means more people tend to be out of town.

Cesar you haver some good ponts. it appears the RX7club site is down at this time. when its back up, you should leave the same post there.
as for the big bear / redlands lunch in one day. i dont see this being a problem.
say we left at 9:00 A.M this would have us up there and back on the opther side by 12:00 at the latest, this is if we stop and streatch for a few while being up there. then the lunch/BBQ would be untill 12:00 (or so) untill 1:30 or 2:00.
but it does not matter, what ever people want to do. i understand what you are saying.
and as for the "spirited driving" big bear run would not be such a spirited drive doe to police and mild traffic. just thought it would be a nice drive thats all.
if people want to have a more spirited drive, then yes we might want to consider alternative drives.
anyways, those were just ideas, thougt i would toss them out there. see what people want to do. good part is we have almost a month to decide what we want to do.
one other i dea scotty305 and myself have talked about, is having a TRACK DAY with all of us, for those of us that would really like to push our cars 100% (i personally will not push 100% on the streets)

Hi -
The 2nd Saturday of the month will work way better for me. I will be out of town on the first Saturdays of both March and April - and, I don't want to miss the fun.
Don't change **just because of me** but if there is anyway to change the date, that would be great!
I really like the drive around Big Bear idea - why not just have lunch "up there" and then be free to do whatever?

I think a more spirited drive would be fun, although I don't have a problem with just cruising. Hey look I was kinda in one of the pics! lol At any rate, I'm down for whatever, next time I'll be a bit more prepared and not have my bedset in the backseat, and maybe next time Jesse(if that's how it's spelled) will be able to keep up with me on the freeway

YES! I FINIALLY FOUND U GUYS! some local 8ers. i live in the san gabriel area, and as far as i know, i'm the only 8 out here. i'd love to meet with u guys and check out ur cars. as far as speeding in the streets... i get into to much trouble on the streets so these days i try to hold it in until i get out to the track. i would love the idea of a RX8 track meet. last time i went i was the only one out there, most of the drivers out there didn't even know what kinda car i was driving. i would feel allot better if u guys came out with me the next event. i'm going out on feb 26 with www.speedventures.net. check it out and let me know if any of u guys are down to go.

Hey Hey! rx8club (the website) hasnt been working for me. it was down for 4 days... but now that I'm here...
Thanks for organizing all that Jesse and KC (sp).
The meet was great. I'm up for any type of drive aslong as it's not too far away.
Great Pics!
as far as a track day is concerned... I can only do those on Sunday's. but whatever :P
and one final note.
Scenic Drive > Sprint
second final note. - Ceaser doesnt post often :P (hence how he has only 25 posts since 2004) :P no offence ceaser.

no problem krazie, thanks for coming out. look forward to seeing all you guys again soon.
as stated before there is not set run as of right now, just coming up with ideas. and thanks to Riccio, we might change the date. (just kidding, we might change it to the second weekend anyways, just wanted to give you a hard time)
anways, when we find out more i will post the "final" time, date, place...... ect.
also i got my clear corners in today, and STILL waiting for hte intake to come in. its pretty bad when your intake from so cal, takes longer the your clear corners from Japan!!!

the lights are cool, i have 3 LED's pointing at the foot pedals, and 3 on the passanger side. i REALLY like the way the drivers side turned out.
anyways, i think we finnally decided on meeting:
Saturday March 12th
Pirate City Tatto Parking Lot

Well guys looks like I won't be at the March meet. Last night I was victim to an ******* driver. Dude ran a red light while I was making a left turn, I swerved, lost control in the rain spun around into a curb and the left rear wheel snapped off my car braking the rear axle.
I highly doubt I'll have enough cash in 2 weeks to fix. So I guess I'll be seein you guys in april

Watch the video I sent you.
I just watched it and I feel like going for a drive.
Basically, what I said in my first response was that I wasn't the best person to ask about the RX8, because I'm still in-love w/ this car.
I bought it in July of 2004, and I still smile everytime I see the car in the garage, or know that I'm going to get to drive it somewhere, even if it's just to the store.
The bottomline though, you need to list what's important to you.
If you're looking for a fast 1/4 mile car, the Z is a better choice.
If you want something that's fun to drive all the time, I think the 8 is better.
The best way to experience the RX8 is to ride along w/ someone at a track event.
If you saw my videos of my yellow car, then you seen autocross.
If you go to a local autocross event in your area, on practice days you can ride along w/ drivers for free.
They're usually pretty cool about letting new people do that.
Are you in Southern California? If you are, I can tell you where the autocross events are. If not, I'm sure there is one near you somewhere.
Like I mentioned above, list what's important.
I did that before buying my car, and decided on the RX8.
2 1/2 years later, I'm still very happy w/ the car.
You could also check out RX8Club.com
It's the best forum for RX8 stuff, and you'll get a ton of opinions on there.
You can look me up there, name screen name is 'cesaralaniz'.
My mods list is pretty long.
Here's some pics of my car.
