I'd be interested in an emanage/piggyback tuning clinic for the 8. If racing beat is there, I'd like to hear about how their ECU project is going.

also maybe a clinic on suspension tuning if that has enough appeal.

I just signed up and paid my fees for the track day. hopefully there really was a spot left for me to do this!

Well I swear I lost half my tread on my first track day at Calf. Speedway.

Ah......... Rotors can wear out if you push it hard. They'll warp.

The new 05's have bigger rotors up front.

We are now looking for clean RX's for the show. We want to see some real quality cars out at the event. If you have a clean ride, please feel free to sign-up for the show FREE on the event website at:

unfortunately I had to cancel my spot for a family gathering (other family) so maybe one of you guys will get moved up.

Bern, will there be another MazFest next year? Possibly around or after memorial day?

Is there a parking entry fee of $10? I thought I saw that somewhere...

Zaku-8 04-11-2005 06:23 PM

that's the gate fee for buttonwillow. goes for spectators and track cars alike. I think its per car

Yes, the $10 is the gate fee Buttonwillow Raceway (SCCA - Cal Club Region) charges per car to enter the grounds. We will picking up the tab for all drivers participating and registered to drive the TRACK event. Courtesy of Heritage Mazda.

That's pretty cool... so the spectators and the show cars will have to pay the $10 fees. That's fair.

Yes sir... that's about right. We wanted to show a little appreciation for those that shelled out the bigger $$

We really wanted to pay for everyone, but the money we received from Heritage Mazda, was just enough to cover the track group.

This may be a stupid question but do you need to register to be a spectator, or is it just show up pay your $10 and enjoy the view?

88gt 04-12-2005 03:48 PM

Registration is not required to spectate. Just show up with friends and family, pay the $10 gate fee and enjoy the day :)

CalZoomer 04-15-2005 04:05 PM

Yahoo. Last nite was notified that a spot opened and I was next on the wait list.
Paid my $$ immediately. :D

Guys, if you have an option to go on the track, go! Its a nothing deal and lots of fun. I was just there last week (the only RX8). If you drive carefully, you can have lots of fun (and get passed alot -- who cares). Put air in your tires -- start at over 40 -- stock breaks should work if you have pads left (redstuff ceramics work great front and rear though) fun fun... great track!!

Zaku-8 04-18-2005 08:52 AM

which days were you there?

zoomed 04-18-2005 09:44 PM

april 15th ... hosted by speed ventures..

88gt 04-26-2005 12:43 PM

I'm heading up late Friday afternoon. Should be a bit of partying Friday night as well. Anyone want to meet up for the drive to Buttonwillow?
