I was thinking about selling the tail lights but it takes too long to make them. I'd have to charge more than most people are willing to pay in order to make it worth my time.

Can't you submit your design to an electronic manufaturer and have them produce roughly 100. I'm sure you can easily sell 50 right off the bat from a group buy and the other 50 will sell over time. Just an idea.
