Hey Phoenix People

I live in socal, about an hour east of the Mazda headquarters. There are a few SUPER cool twisty roads to get there. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in a few mountain roads after a several hour drive from phoenix.
If you are interested, please let me know cuz I would love to join a few other RX's getting there.

Where in the hills do you reside? We will have a route planned and it is the shortest route from PHX. Or are you refering to a little road trip after arrival?

it is up to you. My brother is in phoenix, that drive wears me out. But on your way, there are a couple good roads. Or once everyone arrives and settles in, we could meet for food and a drive. There are only a couple good roads near the event, but a few miles away, there are some really great mountain roads.
What is your route here? There are a few freeways to avoid on a friday afternoon. What time do you plan on being here? and do you like beach or mountains? You decide what you want, I am just here as a guide to make sure your time here is well spent and the roads you choose are not cop infested.(irvine is locally known for HORRIBLE cops. Make sure you have a front license plate with you.)

Beagle <------ I just LOVE to drive

We're coming straight out on I-10 to 215.
Then, we get on 91 to 55 to 261.
We'll stop in Blythe and Palm Springs.

Arizona doesn't have front plates.

FYI, if you're going straight there, take the 91 to the 241 (south), then stay on the 241 (don't merge onto 261) until you get to the 133 (south). Take that to Barranca and get off there, make a left, you'll see the Mazda building on the right about a couple blocks up the road.

BTW, 241 is a toll road. You'll pay twice. Once as you crest over the mountain on the 241, and once as you enter the 133. The time savings would be around 15-20 minutes without traffic.

Have fun!

Make sure you bring a lot of change for the 241/261. It is a toll road, costs about $5.00 to get to irvine. And it start before you even reach the 55 freeway. The 91 is not too bad coming this direction. If you pass the 261 and take the 55 south to E. CHAPMAN ave, it will take you parrellel to the 261 for free. And it goes through Santiago canyon, becomes El Toro rd(s18) and spits you out two offramps away from the event.
Or the easiest is the i-10 to i-215 to r-91 to i-55s to i-5s.

So what do you think . . Beach roads for a cruise, or do we go find the twisties?
