Who here is interested in getting an active Nor Cal Rotary Club going and attending monthly meets and Track events?I have been talking with a few people and organizing something like this.Everyone who is for this getting started post here.This club would start a great network of rotary owners who like to race and cruise. Make new friends and party like rock stars!.How about we start off the new year 2008 with our first meet in Janurary, every second Saturday like the so cal club. This would be Janurary 12th 2008.Let me know all you nor cal rotary guys.It would be held in or around the bay area so anybody who can make it from afar your attendance would be appreciated.

Where are you located? We have Mazda meets at the Dublin Imax Theater almost every month. If you live close, then why not have it there?

I also own a 04 rx8 but it's becomming a strictly track car time attack.

I am located In Oakland pretty close to the planned meeting spot.

Well there alot more rotary guys out here in the heart of the bay so meeting out here on a saturday jan 12th around 3pm in Emeryville at the EXPO center across from BEST BUY will due.We can also piggyback with your 8 guys after the first meet in the East Bay Area.

What days do you guys meet up and possibly come out to Emeryville and support the new group.I would like to meet with other leading members of Mazda clubs up here in Nor Cal and possibly getting more people together and having larger meets and possibly events and track days.

That sounds good. Unfortunately, I work until 5:00pm on weekends so we usually have the meets at 6pm in Dublin. Most of the guys live in the Central Valley, so that makes our location in the middle of all the locations.

You should join the MOCC forum. That is where we post about our meets.

Sure, I would love to help. I can't have a meet this Saturday, but I will be able to have a meet between the dates of December 21st and January 5th? Also, we will have to give people a couple weeks notice, so they can change their work schedule if needed. I think on January 13th there is a big meet in SF, so the 12th would seem like a waste for most people.

did you see the other thread for the Bay Area meet? We have been meeting in Union city on Fridays for about 3 years now. I help set up meets up here and there in the Bay Area. How big is your group? Are you wanting to make an all rotary meet or just another 8 meet. The RX-7's meet in union city as well, but on Saturdays but not as often as we do. If anything come down this Friday or any Friday to Union City near the Krispy Kreme and introduce your selfs.

I thought it was saturdays but I am starting a new chapter also and would like to meet up with you guys also.Would you guys be willing to come to our meet earlier in the day and cruise down to krispy kreme later in the evening?I hear you guys meet around 9pm so I could bring the group there about 9 if the Dublin guys we'll see what happens since there is about 2 months to plan the meet. below is the group that is meeting so far.Some of them might be from your meets also.I am looking to expand to everyone around nor cal as well as sacramento. We can possibly merge groups and plan together.I hear the union city spot has problems sometimes but since your meet is weekly I will come down sometime.Is this Gerome? If so we have talked before.Our meets will be once a month and always have diffrent venues and meeting locations , some closer to Sac like vaccaville to get more of the guys together.

Hey JunpoweR,

My name is David. We've been meeting at the Union City meet at 7p for awhile now. The Rx-7's meets on saturdays.

We tired to mix up the meets but the regulars are closer to that area then in Emeryville. We have 2 people that come from that area. For us to drive up there it's too much of a hassel with all that traffic in that direction. What we do to change up the meets is, the First Friday of the month we meet in a specified location. If you don't end up choosing a location, we'll default it to the Union City Meet. Myself and another member tried to combine some of the rotary's on the area but it was too difficult to break the meeting habits of the other people. That's why there is a dublin meet and the east bay meet.

I think the Union City meet is a more central location then the north bay or out in Dublin. We'll plan things out as they go along, if you can, get your guys to come out to our meet and we'll plan accordingly. We have done a Dyno meet, SF Japan Town meet, Dyno meet, a bbq and a caravan to SSX, so throwing something else in the mix is never a bad idea.

I normally show up at union city meets but I've been meaning to go to dublin as well. If the Emeryville meets will be a go, it would work great for me since I'm from Hercules but the rest of the south bay folks would have to drive farther. Just a suggestion, to get all the norcal 8's/rotaries together; each group would host a meet once a month and everybody will attend. for example, northbay folks would host a meet on the 1st Sat of the month and eastbay would host the next meet on the following month, followed by the southbay and finally the folks over at Dublin...

Hello David,
What time does the Saturday meet in union city hook up? I hear it's around 9pm or is it earlier?Well If I do have the meet in Emeryville there is a possibility of a BBQ starting around 12 noon for the early commers and last til around 3-4pm Then take a easy bay hills drive and end up with the Union City crew. Does this sound like a possibility?It all depends on what time you guys meet up. I would like it to be around 7-8pm which gives us time to cruise the hills and grab some dinner after.Everything is up in the air for now since this is the first meet I am planning but I am open to merging some of the meets so we can all have a round.

Also DJ feel free to come on down to emeryville and we can meet up with the union city guys after.
