If a car "forced" you to spin out... You could have most likely prevented it by paying more attention. So yeah, your age and lack of experience at driving did have something to do with it. Sure, the other guy had something to do with it.. but ultimately you are responsible for what happens to you.

that is one of the DUMBEST things I've ever heard!

a little water caused you to spin out? Maybe you shouldn't have been driving so fast?! Maybe you should have been paying more attention to the road?

Maybe you should stop blaming others for your mistakes?

i saw a car spin out on crenshaw one day. sprinklers were not broke but the street was flooded. she had a conbination of going to fast, and also having bad tires. but her speed was the real cause...

Sorry to hear about the car... but most accidents that are dependant on spin-out are usually because of Speed. Not saying that is exactly the main cause, but for someone to spin-out you would need to go fairly fast.

I can say it happened to me when I hydroplaned on the 91 West, when I was 17 years old driving my dinky car. Went too fast, inexperienced, rained just a tiny bit, and spun out when I tried to avoid another accident.

If it was the other driver that crashed into your lane, then maybe you'll have some sort of case.... but it's awfully difficult to get the City at fault. They'll say your speed was the reason you spun out.

Most city streets have a speed limit of 50 mph or less. So you were speeding by 35 mph or more and lost control. Sounds like you got off lucky only hurting your car, hope you learned something from it.

Where in my post did I mention suing the city?

Other then that, I applaud you for the well though out reply to our inquiries.

Have fun paying for this out of your pocket since it WAS your fault!

Maan... People were just giving some good constructive critism. You ned to relax.
Anyways, this sounds extremely familiar XD
If you don't know, I also spun out in my rx-8 but it was at 95... and same with you, hardly any body damage.
I can look back and thank God that no one died, or got hurt for that matter. I can also say "yeah, I learned my lesson."
I believe everyone is flaming you because it sounds like you are trying to put the blame on someone or something else.
Just relax and just thank God you weren't hurt at those kinds of speeds.

Notice I didn't say anything about suing. I said that you can't find the city at fault when you were the one driving fast. YOU said it yourself that it was the city's fault for the broken sprinkler. YOU said it was the other guy that hit you. It wasn't even any sort of criticism, it was merely the rest of the members on this board giving you information that the OLDER drivers on this board have experienced.

When you calm down a bit, please re-read this above post... think about what you've said in relation to our comments to you.
