Y does the Rx8 fourm take so long to load compared to other fourms?

As title states?

it takes long when you click on new thread, go advanced, quote, etc.

What browser are you using?

slowness is either the server being slow, javascript being slow (usually browser dependent) or flash (if the ads are flash) and Flash is a system HOG...

It has a bit a bit slow the last few days.

treyoh5 10-15-2009 10:38 AM

good things come to those who wait.

(my firefox is slow as hell loading this site..)

dozer 10-15-2009 10:39 AM

^so is mine, and my IE is even slower

treyoh5 10-15-2009 10:45 AM

beer helps speed up the load times

CyberPitz 10-15-2009 12:29 PM

Firefox here - I don't notice any slowness.

safari and firefox

StormyWankel 10-15-2009 01:11 PM

I've tested this site on four browsers when I first joined because I noticed the slowness...Firefox was the fastest, followed closely by Opera. Safari and IE were the slowest (Safari was a little faster than IE). It also seems to change depending on the day...some days it's slow and some days it's fast...never slow enough to bother me though so meh

Mazmart 10-15-2009 01:36 PM

Yes, the last few days have been 2-3 times longer than normal. Slightly irritating.

Paul.

I'm not having any trouble with Firefox. I'll have to try it with IE & Chrome.

Symbioticgenius 10-15-2009 04:13 PM

I am having trouble with Firefox, im gonna try running it sans scripts and see what happens.

Edit: No noticeable difference using Noscript to block everything except rx8club.com. Also unable to ping rx8club.com so any kind of data test is out of the question. Nonetheless it is noticeably slower.

RXeckless 10-15-2009 04:15 PM

ditto to all of the above. uploading sometimes takes forever seem to hang.

Safari 3.11 slow on a day by day basis, good one day next almost at a standstill. Had 4.01 (slow always) till mac died then back to 3.11, Firefox slow also. EI for the mac never use but installed for the wif, just crawls.

Sorry, forget I posted this....... everything is wonderful. Last time I posted in suggestions my post #'s got returned to zero for my effect.

The server(s) suck(s). Sometimes the forums don't even load for me, or stop loading halfway. It's really lame.

chino0314 10-15-2009 05:53 PM

Mazurfer 10-15-2009 06:34 PM

It's been rather slow for up to a week now!
More than slightly irritating!
Other sites and forums are okay........:uhh:

Bigbacon 10-15-2009 07:03 PM

safari is ass.....It's SLOW.....

I write web apps for a living and Safari is always by far the slowest POS browser there is..... It can barely figure out javascript in a timely manner. Forget Ajax, takes forever.

//end safari rant

chino0314 10-15-2009 07:07 PM

double you tee vee mofo ^^^ :)

Gr8Bullet 10-15-2009 07:11 PM

your local internet connection could also be the cause of it as well. my firefox is working good.

Mazurfer 10-15-2009 07:16 PM

^...............not in my case!

exsequor 10-15-2009 07:27 PM

firefox ftw. no load problems here but I have always noticed the rx8club is a little slow. lately it's seemed a bit quicker for me.

2tone 10-16-2009 09:33 AM

i 20th that it's been really slow lately. ie is the worst, safari is bad too. firefox is ok but still slow. sometimes it won't even load at all. it's the worst after i type out a message like this only to have it crash! [fingers crossed]

cornholio135 10-16-2009 01:37 PM
