Strikethrough tag

Could we get a strike through tag?

HTML Code:

Title: Strikethrough
Tag: s (or strike or whatevery ou want)
Replacement: <div style="text-decoration: line-through;">{param}</div>
Example: [strike]Strikethrough[/strike]
Description: This places a strike-through, through any text.

this could be beneficial :)

What would be the difference between this and just editing a post? I'm soooooo lazy when making posts, I constantly have to go back and edit for spelling mistakes.

usually for selling purposes in the vendor section and private section

You can show a price drop to show the person buying from you to show where the Price has come from.

For Example you make a private for sale ad and you start at $100 then a week later you want to drop the price so on and so forth.

That is one way of a benefit for a selling tool for all users, not saying they have to.

Some people have no concept what the orginal cost of an item is sometimes.

Starting off what you paid for it what you want and finally just to get it gone and so on

Mainly for fun purposes, if you make an edit to poke fun at someone or make a joke or something, using a strike through makes it more obvious you've made a comical edit.

Though like said above, it can be used to show changes over time.

Just saying it creates value in the product you might be selling

That too, there are many options for this use.

Mazurfer 03-11-2009 10:27 AM

I can see that to some extent, but so would saying "Price dropped from X$'s to Y$'s.
Doesn't really matter to me though. :)
I like it for the comical edits as well, but have gotten use to people saying "fixed" and then doing the retype in a different color.

zoom44 03-11-2009 04:17 PM

hows this?

:)

zoom44 03-11-2009 04:19 PM

$500

$400

$299!!

Silver06 03-11-2009 04:24 PM

This is a dumb great feature!

It lets you correct posts while editing, rather than just re-typing and 'hiding the evidence of your failure more lucid thought.

Thanks!

edit: using the code {strike} (with the proper brackets) puts in a line break. any way around this? it can look a bit silly...

zoom44 03-11-2009 04:33 PM

no all the codes use [] so this one does to

Silver06 03-11-2009 04:41 PM

Zoom.

When I write a long paragraph, and it needs some editing like this one:

Let's say I was talking about the fabulous acceleration and drag strip capabilities of the RX-8 and all you need for ten second hookups is a set of ladder bars from a 1960's Camaro, and that if you use nitro there is no damage to the fuel pump sock, but the nitro fumes cause the JDM clear corners to go foggy.

And then I change one word using [ strike (]), it splits the paragraph into a section and puts the struck text onto a line of it's own.

Here's the same paragraph with one "strike" like this:

Let's say I was talking about the fabulous acceleration and drag strip capabilities of the RX-8 and all you need for ten second hookups is a set of ladder bars from a1960's Camaro 1990 5.0 Mustang, and that if you use nitro there is no damage to the fuel pump sock, but the nitro fumes cause the JDM clear corners to go foggy.

(Note that I can't use the the square brackets in the description - or it will invoke that code).

Sorry for being unclear. :)

zoom44 03-11-2009 04:52 PM

i dont know why it does that ill loklook into it

Silver06 03-11-2009 04:54 PM
