*coughs* back to what I think the OP was talking about...

If you are referring to a video camera I'm not sure that's the right questions to ask.

For example any video camera can be used to take video of the 8 or while you are driving the 8. Several people in our group use GO PRO products (http://www.goprocamera.com/) The HD video looks pretty good, but the wind noise is going to be awful if you mount it outside your car.

I personally use a high end consumer HD camera (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/...52921666073263), but with a special suction cup mount that allows me to mount it to just about any flat hard surface (http://www.filmtools.com/gripper-302...era-mount.html)

I really like the Sony camera for its amazing image stabilization while shooting on the go, but honestly, don't find its good for much else. If you like you can see some of the video I've shot with it on my youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/RileyCraven?feature=mhum) I'd suggest watching them in full 1080 to realize the true potential with the caveat that even those videos have been compressed in order to get on to youtube. (If you don't think any of that footage is very "stable" I've tested with different brands and instead of slight movements even the slightest of jarring would cause the picture to go haywire)

If I'm answering a question you weren't asking my apologies, with more specifics I will try to help you better.

The RX-8 doesn't have a cam - it is a rotary engine. Piston motors have cams.

Wait. Whut?

Nevermind....

LoL there is some excellent information here for me to use. Not what this thread was about but none the less very informative. I am in the market for a new camera so I'll check your suggestions out.

What is a good digital camera to get that has HDD video?

Thank you for sharing this information with me. :)

I'm not best to ask about still photography, however, if you are going to get a good one I highly suggest you invest in an SLR (300$+) A lot of models will also shoot HD video, one thing you are going to have to consider is the amount of space in doing so. I'd recommend a 32gig SD card at a minimum, with the possibility of buying several extras. I generally use consumer reports for a lot of my launching points when considering new purchases that I'm not well versed in and then based on their recommendations jump to the internet to see what lay people are saying about a given product.

That's why I asked you about the camera. You seem very knowledgeable on this sort of stuff. Thanks for the info.

Here. I had one of the girls hold the end of my fire hose. Unfortunately I couldn't fit in the camera frame. But you get the idea.
