make this in NON forum format ... like www.newcelica.org
1) gallery - both from media and user rides 2) modification install area - guides, warning, info. etc. 3) general rx8 specs - dimensions, ratings, etc. etc. 4) pure media coverage area from magazines, television, etc. 5) Give CALIFORNIA their own area 6) make a newbie section 7) make the lounge another name like OFF-TOPIC or ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK, etc. hope this helps... |
Those are interesting ideas, but would also require a LOT of work by people who were already nice enough to set it up. Remember, they aren't getting paid to create this.
And a few notes- the specs are already in the faq, in my experience, newbie areas are generally pretty useless because no one wants to be labeled a "newbie," and I don't understand the benefit of having a section for just California. But good suggestions! |
ALL of that, except for the Californian area is all already here... and as Elara said, a newbie area isn't something that people'd really want, 'cause they can just ask a question anyways, not to mention THE FAQ thread ;) poifect for nOObs. :)
...the mod area will happen when there are parts to review and not to mention THEY GET THIER CARS ;) |

Originally posted by Efini 8 newbie section is for people that dont know jack... it helps when a lot of people start asking the same damn questions all the time... u will see as the car gets more popular The thing that I've seen on this and other forums that I've been involved with, is that the "newbies" who do re-ask the same questions do so because they are lazy, or so unfamiliar with a site (or the forum process altogether) that they haven't looked in the right places. Those who would take the time and make the effort to look in the "newbie" section, already take the time and make the effort to snoop and search, so it doesn't help them. Meanwhile, the lazy/uninitiated wouldn't bother/know to look in the "newbie" section, so it wouldn't help them either, and it doesn't stop them from asking the same questions again and again. In my experience, when it was tried, the "newbie" section didn't offer any more benefits then a simpler, easier-to-initiate-the-newbies FAQ section. ---jps |
