New forums
We will eventually require a motorsports forum to cover track and autocross.
|
Another forum to consider would be a dealer forum as a place that dealers of the car can post, and people can post their impressions and experiences with specific dealers.
|
A buying/selling forum for RX-8 related products and parts?
|
A forum for meets and events? Or maybe that should be in the regional forums.
|
A forum for car modifications. Maybe subdivide into body/appearance mods and handling/power mods.
|
All coming soon, Randy. We'll have those and more once the car is released. ;)
|
Cool. :)
This will be a busy site. At some point, I need to discuss advertising with you guys. |
I suggest directing those inquiries to BOOSTD7, the forum owner. LOTS of things are in the works, this place is going to explode, and our cozy little "hometown-feel" will be history. We're ready, ain't we guys? :D :D

When the site gets bigger, you should have locality forums.
For example: Nothern California Southern California Pacific Northwest Midwest The Dirty South New England Atlantic south Coast Hawaii Asia Europe etc etc etc... |

not to mention leaving out new york, Pa, new jersey and D.C.
|
Ok, North Delaware and South Delaware, howzat? :D
Seriously, all suggestions are valid. It's under discussion with the mods right now as we speak. We can go with the standard forum names copying other sites or we can do something out-of-the-box as long as navigation is easy for everyone. We're new and now's the time to toss in your opinions. We have a large and very supportive membership from "Across the Pond" and "Up North" who definitely will get their own forums. ;) |

oh he broke this country into geographical bits and then said "europe" and "asia". understood now, im tired and a bit thickheaded today:cool:

LMAO! Asia (by definition that we have no influence over), refers to the Orient. Just piddly semantics and demographics 'tis all. Would you prefer RH drive vs. LH drive forums? :D
|
Originally posted by zoom44 oh he broke this country into geographical bits and then said "europe" and "asia". understood now, im tired and a bit thickheaded today:cool: I guess that Europe and Asia could be broken up better... but I'm not the one who's qualified to do it... definitely not for Asia... IMHO, geographical areas are OK, and then Europe and Asia etc... but if it's decided to do say States in the US then that translates to countries in Europe I guess... |
Based on my experiences at other car forums, it should not be divided based on geographical size or any other criteria beyind user needs. It could very well be true that there should be a Southern California and Northern California split, if the numbers of members indicate a need. It would be a lot easier to arrange meets and events in a Southern California forum for example.
If one person from France was an RX-8 fan, should there be a French forum? Nope. I suggest you start small in numbers and divide and subdivide as the numbers indicate you should. A forum with a lot of sparsely used subforums and many layers looks crappy, IMHO. Start out with a West Coast, East Coast, South, Midwest, Canada, Europe, Asia. Yeah... is seems dismissive to a continent, but reality will be what it is. Most of the posts reflect people in certain regions. Again, create regional forums based on needs. If we have 20+ members from UK and they have to sort through the that one French guy's messages and all the German/Dutch messages, split it up then. |
Yep, I agree... I see no need to split it up in that way at all... but if it gets done I'd like to see a little consistancy, otherwise it's gonna get confusing..
In that way I think less is more... |
