How do I enlarge the little pics?

I want to be able to better see the little pics of people with their cars that are at the top of messages. Is there a way to do this? I can really see their cars when the pic is about 1/2 inch by 1/2 an inch.

They're just small images used as 'avatars'. They're not enlargeable.
