How about a chat room?
 

In the last forum I was apart of we had one it was a great tool to get to know people without having them post up something. Plus good ideas for the site and other things were talked about through chat. Does anyone else feel the same?

would require someone to moderate it and would quickly become a troll fest. Street Racing, Politics and other divisive topics would also run rampant. I see only negatives to a real time chat. There are times here where the positing is so fast it functions similar to a chat anyway.

I see your point but It seems to work real well in other forums. As for a moderator I've noticed an absence of them from this forum or maybe these people are not labeled like in most forums. All in all I think it would be a good idea to have maybe a beta version to see if it would work here or not.

I agree, my last forum had one and it helped out so much. While you were working on the car if you had a question just post it in the chat and answered immediately. The chat was actually at the very top of the page so even as you surfed through the site the chat was there.

If you could figure out a way for Internet Brands to make some money from the feature it would have a better shot of being added.

its been done several times including having it at the top of the forum for easy access.. people stop using it and just post on the forum when they have questions

so was it built in at the top of the page like how this forum has it? www.thespecvboard.com you need to create an account and login to see what im talking about but if it is setup like that site i think it will be very successful

There has also been several unoffical chat nights that have been setup on AIM. They have died due to lack of interest.

so cal has there own chatroom on aim so check with your locals

if it was imbedded into the actual site i dont see how it would not work. Im talking about something that is right below the picture slideshow on the site and shows the users and then allows chat about whatever....

Today, I was driving in my car with my friend next to me. He had a smoothie in the center console of the car and at a red light instead of picking it up and drinking it, he decided to just bend over and drink it. He came up licking his lips and the guy in the car next to me was smiling at me. FML
