Ask Bob?
 

One of the nicer (and more useful, imo) features of MiataNet was a section called "Ask Bob", where owners could ask various technical questions to Bob Hall, one of the "fathers" of the Miata.

Since this forum has so many members AND so many unanswered questions it would be great to have that kind of access to someone who REALLY has some of the technical and design answers about the RX-8.

What about it, Moderators/Admins? Do you think such an arrangement is possible? Sure there are legal issues and not all questions could be answered directly. But we'd still probably get some good insight by allowing them to pick and choose from various member submissions.

And, if they had Bob's dry wit that would be icing. :D

The thing is, Bob is no longer with Mazda, so he is not held to too many NDAs about designs they started over 15 years ago. And he still has contacts, so he can dispell some rumors about current projects pretty freely (while you don't see him being able to confirm too many items about current projgects).

There are several of us on here who know people in a similar situation, and there are even some insiders themselves floating around here "incognito". But as we saw before the car came out, and like you may have already surmized, they aren't allowed to be too "visible", and aren't allowed to release too much information.

If something comes up where we can take advantage of something like that, of course we will jump on it.
