Wow, you guys are fast. I just finished setting this up before bed last night, and you all have found it already!

I'm not sure what you mean? You're clicking 'normal' down at the bottom left, and still being forced to the mobile site?

The members gallery at the top is wide and out of place and I'd prefer it wasn't there. Without it, page load will probably quicken up quite a bit.
There are three ads/page, this will not change, but they shouldn't slow things down. The gallery section across the top, has been removed from the mobile version, this greatly speeds things up.

The userCP page could use some work, we agree. Not sure about adding who the last poster was at this time though.

Quick thoughts:
- if I go to the normal site, it would be nice if it stopped asking me EVERY TIME I clicked on something to use the mobile site. That got old really quick.

- maybe it's just me but I don't see the top menu bar or how to access some of those drop downs such as new posts, todays posts, or user cp.
The top menu bar that you describe is not available in the mobile style. We tried to keep this as lightweight as possible. The upcoming app (in several months time) will have all of these features built in, so we've chosen to save our own development time for other projects.

also maybe you guys can implement the pages on the thread, and maybe "go to last page" button might help. i tried going to the SoCal lounge and it sends me to the first page. [nvm] found out clicking the time/date instead sends me to the last page.
There's just not really any space to put in clickable page numbers, which is why they aren't there now. That's a great tip to click the time/date to get to the last post in a thread though!

You should be able to get the mobile site by going here from your cell phone: https://www.rx8club.com

with the mobile site now up (even though it needs a few tweaks), what's the point of tapatalk?

They ditched tapatalk awhile ago I thought. Now 8club doesn't work on my pc but I can get into mobile on my iPhone. Still won't let me change back to normal on the phone though. And I still vote for adding the name of the last poster right above the date stamp of last post.

dondo: mobile site discussion thread is here https://www.rx8club.com/suggestions-archive-212/not-fan-203895/

might make it easier to get a resolution since few of us are having that issue and Robb is responding there.

That works Robb, thanks!

BlackBerry devices can actually have different user agents depending on how the browser is configured, and to avoid having to maintain a list, I would just match on ^(.+)?(BlackBerry).+$ and trap the whole thing, unless you have multiple mobile sites depending on the BB version, then we can run into some more complicated setups

RX8Club is now in my favorites list on my phone. I'm considering making it my home page.

Posting from the mobile site.

I'm impressed. Needs some tweaking. I suggest u create a sticky in the suggestion forums pertaining to the mobile site so we can give u more feedback for bug fixes and corrections. That would be way better then having the discussion in this useless thread.

For what it is worth, I apologize for the rampant extreme bitch fit I threw. I grow impatient sometimes. Overall, great job. Like I said, some tweaks and it should be good.

Gonna have to agree. I use the regular site over the mobile site. It's still magically faster to get what i need out of it.

Sorry to bring this from the dead but i was going to create a new thread but i found this one!

Many users do alot of their posting from their phones im sure, and i do as well but the mobile site just isnt good enough. Its decent but why not activate tapatalk? Its free, and its an app that lets you browse all your forums in one app with a beautiful interface! Im on an android phone and you can easily tell the mobile site favors the iphones browser when right next to android. All a forum admin would have to do is activate tapatalk, register and we can start using the app on iphones and android.

The mobile site is actually pretty useless as far as I'm concerned. Android user here.
Tapatalk would be better.

Yes guys, I have used tapatalk and know of it's capabilities very well. However as far as I know there is no active webmaster here that can maintain the tables as they grow. This is a rather large forum and if you have read up on a lot of the tapatalk documentation, the tables (which are now local to the webserver as opposed to their own server) will need some maintenance from time to time due to fragmentation as threads are created and deleted.

I am all for tapatalk, but the aformentioned may be the reason why the forum doesn't currently have it.
