Anyone elses RX8 make slight grinding sound near 8000 rpm?

Does anyone elses RX8 make a slight "grinding" sound near 8000 RPM? It's actually not really a grinding sound, it's just a deeper sound than the Rotary engine normally makes.

I'm a little worried about my car now that the air compressor blew up and the buzzer near 8500 rpms does not sound....I just bought the car from the dealership 2 weeks ago, and I want to make sure I didn't purchase a lemon (I did a carfax check on the car before I purchased it and it checked out OK....of course, that doesn't take into account mechanical damage that hasn't occured yet).

Thanks for the responses. After all of this, I hope my engine gets recalled.....

Thanks for the search guide, dillsrotary. I found exactly the information I was looking for:

Sounds like it's normal! That's relief....first good news I've had since I got the car.

Seeing as all RX8's don't do it I'm not convinced it's normal. I'm having my recall done tomorrow and I'm going to show it to the tech since mine will do it in neutral pretty easy.
