Has anyone had this issue before?

There is a strange scratching like plates or ball bearings whirring. It's not the engine, because it happens only in 3rd gear.

Seems to get muted if i press down under the gear shift leather.

Have the dealer look at it. These transmissions are suspect. I had my syncros rebuilt
because 5th was gone.

 

Sham, maybe you should have bought an automatic ??

 

Its not my fault the gears can't keep up with my blazing speed and move from one gear to the other as fast as I can!


Dan, I forgot how brutal the traffic is in London and I don't blame you at all for not coming in to town. As it stands, I have a tight schedule. But I do want to see you and will do my best for Tuesday night the 12th of September to come out your way. My last appointment finishes at about 5 PM and if all works out, I could be in your neck of the woods by 6:30PM. But anything can happen so I'll call you in the middle of the day on Tuesday to confirm what I will do. Enjoy your dinner with Monica and if I can make it out, great. If not, a la prochene opportunite! Just have some cold beer ready if I can make it. I would say I'm about 75% sure I'll be coming out.
