im doing a complete rotor and brake pad replacement. but while im doing this i wanna paint my calipers.
i own an 04 ng8. ive searched around the forums for all the ng owners and those who do have their brakes painted, its in black.

but i dont want black,id want something vibrant, noticable and not tacky at all.

i was thinking about silver but im better off asking you guys for advice first.
your opinions are needed, thanks in advance!

 

i have red brakes on my brilliant black and it looks great. I think red might look a little unusual on such a dark green, but maybe will clear corners it would match the car.

 

bronze!

 

i have the chrome handle and tank along with stainless fenders. wouldnt it clash?

 

i would go with silver yet it wont stand out too much

 

I think a white or a lighter shade of green would look cool. But I have weird tastes

 

red calipers will never look out of place on the rx-8 - it will match the tail lights red and complete the look of the car.

you need the cups inside the door handles! .....paint the calipers silver!

you already have the chrome on the sides



or if your going all out, do the rotors in silver and the pads in a gloss black


also, change out your strakes, dont notice them in black. car is dark, they should stand out.

and get clear corners


OR...... take handles, fuel door, strakes and brakes and go with a bronze color

recently ive been thinkin about doing the bronze ng combo. after all im thinking about getn bronze/copper RAYS.

i have 2k saved up for wheels so that or either eliminating the whole bronze thing and going chrome with deep lips.

maybe i should take out the fuel tank and put the old one back in there and go bronze calipers and wheels.

im also getting side aero flares in the mail. they are coming painted in NG already from trussville. but maybe id want to paint it in another color.

someone photoshop me some pics and ill reward you with the oem exhaust(you pay me shipping and maybe 50$ =p )

i say get your new wheels first, then see what you like.

if no new wheels, i vote bronze as well. i have red on my VR and i think red would look great on pretty much any other color EXCEPT ng. just doesn't go, imho.

 

Good call, I was going to say that. I'd vote for darker Bronze or maybe a gunmetal color. Subtle is good.
