400hp and RWD like the Pontiac GTO. Cool.

Haha, I never thought I'd see that thing again, at least I was hoping. The back doesn't look bad, but I guess we'll have to see about the rest of the car.

It's basically a GTO. So it can't be all that bad.

I agree with you... but it seems everybody in the US hated the GTO. Personally, I think they should have started a US division of Holden and not done the stupid Pontiac thing.
I think there is a market for RWD GM V8 powered sedans. I think its assanine to drop a V8 in a FWD sedan and call it an Impala SS. Aussie's are going to have new Zeta platform vehicles long before the new Camaro or its variants gets produced, and we're going to be stuck over here with goober FWD pieces of crap. GM is stupid.

They're really not that cool, they're just better than the crap we usually get.

The problem with the newest GtO was it wasnt "retro" which is what people wanted. Look at the new Mustang, Camero, and Challenger to many, people either still remember or wish to live their own muscle car era. The Morano as great as a car it was, was doomed the moment they slapped GtO on it. They alienated alot of die hard GtO fans soley because of its design, I knew a few who stated if it looked retro they would of bought it the momen it hit the showroom floor.

I've liked Holden's designs for awhile now the seem to get "it", and someone at GM is finaly understanding that. Still not sure about the "Lumina" name, I hear that I think of a granny car, Commodore sure doesnt sound oh so manly but is way better than Lumina. Lumina just sounds girly as hell to me atleast.

Agreed... look at the success of the Chrysler 300 (personally I think they look like freight locomotives, but you can't dispute that they've sold very well). It's gotten to the point in American where it's almost rare to find a RWD car. For the casual buyer looking for a domestic, there's the Charger, Mustang, 300, Monte Carlo, and a variety of trucks. Anything else on a RWD platform is probably going to be in excess of $40,000. It's sad.

Um.. I thought the Monte's where still Front wheel drive?
The 300/Charger/Magnum's all sold well because they looked nice/decent and people want a RWD or even a 4WD car. As the saying goes "Give them what they want", some want a RWD car others FWD and some 4WD. Alot of companies have realized this and are trying to diversify their line up.

Oh to make Ike happy about my type-o Camaro!

Go to the website someone posted above too look at all the HSV cars.

www.hsv.com.au

Those cars look better than the 300m, charger, impala, grand prix, lucerne, etc.

I agree, GM should have started the Holden division here in the states.

I've seen them and have seen them for years, they're still overly plastic and nothing special. But like I said, better than what we get now.

Looks were not too far off... i think it's a photoshop but...
Pontiac's new Grand Prix aka the new Commodore SS on the cover of Motor Trend

I guess GM might still have plans to use Pontiac to distribute Holden in the US.
