MS Kit with Copper Red?
Call them directly. The color was just released for this year. May have taken them a bit to catch up. Would love to see a CR kitted. I plan to but no $$ at the moment to do it properly. Think wheels are a more important first step than kit IMHO but best of luck!!

Okay, so I picked up the car after the paint and install, and, you guessed it, they painted the entire kit - front, sides and rear under spoiler body color (CR). Yes, I made it clear before they started that the lower parts were not to be painted CR... and yes, the body shop guy quickly acknowledged that they made a mistake, and will repaint at no charge, yada, yada.
So, here's the catch.
By the end of the day, I'm finding I like it better this way. At first, I was under the impression that the charcoal gray areas were some kind of rubberish material that was designed to handle scrapes, etc. Once the kit came in, it turns out that it's just the same material, painted gray.
Anyway, they owe me a respray, so I'm going to drive it around, being as careful as possible, but see what kind of front end scrapes occur. If I need to repaint, I can do the gray, or just have them clean up and repaint with CR.
I must add that the only portion of the kit (other than the rear wing) that I did not think looked perfect was the rear underspoiler -- it always looked a little wonky (like an add-on), while the front and sides looked like they were meant to be there all along. But, with the body color paint, I think the rear under spoiler looks a lot smoother and well integrated.
One other note, the side skirts are not nearly as tight as I think they should be -- I can actually see through the gaps between the skirts and the body -- they'll redo this as well.
Finally, I'm doing the appearance package rear spoiler with the MS kit (sorry to your MS purists). The MS wing is a little too racy for me. (This from a guy who used to have a Supra -- and replaced the stock wing with a bigger aftermarket one.) Ahh, youth...
Thanks for any thoughts, ideas or suggestions.

looks like you already have the gap in the sideskirt. I hate this about sideskirts. My MS side are the same...
. Love the copper red color, but I think the grey is needed to keep all those replica haters at bay. The grey make the kit unique...but then again, copper red is pretty damn unique. Beautiful color.

I personally love the 1 color look. I never was a fan of the greay. If I were tp ever body kit my car I would do the same.
looks great!

looks great!
So, that sideskirt gap is normal? I can't believe a factory piece would be designed that way. I'm taking it back in to have the wing put on (UPS lost it and is looking...), and will make sure the skirts are as tight as possible. IMO, there should be no gaps at all -- just a tight fit between the skirt and the car. Is that not possible? Did the factory MS RX-8's come with gaps?

There are four white fasteners on the side, that are connected through holes drilled in the side of your car. There is also a long strip of double-sided tape. I installed mine, and they fit tight as a glove for about two months. Then, after a bit of rain, the double sided tape lost its grip, and soon followed by the cracking of all four white fasteners. (probably due to autocrossing the car and bumping into cones every once in awhile). The only thing holding my skirts on now are the bolts on each end, as well as the four fasteners that are attached underneath the car. I would assume, over time, that your skirts will look like they do now....? I'm assuming that a body shop has material that is strong enough to hold the skirt to the body, more than the provided double-sided tape. If you find out that they do, please let me know.
Okay, cool. Yes, they have some work to do still. Half of the clips are not tight at all (I can see them through the opening). Also, they used no double-sided tape at all, just some gray material that the guy said was there to keep the pieces from scratching when they rubbed. I'm wondering if this is actually the double sided tape, but with the sticky side between the skirts and car not in use... I'll follow up when it is right. Thanks for the info.
