Wink EOI - Next Vic Track Day - BROADFORD!

OK well, seeing as winton is done and dusted except for the actaul day, I figured its time to announce the next day.

This one will be at the top secret location we have been discussing with Kevin Flynn from Driver Dynamics, Broadford http://www.motorcyclingvic.com.au/br...d/bfordmap.htm (bottom left track)

We are looking at doing this one a little different in that the day will possibly be invoiced through Driver Dynamics.

We are looking at around the 2nd week of December at the moment.

Please let me know your intentions for this day.

I'm in, depending on the day. Do you think it will be weekday or weekend?

Dates at this point are:

Mon 4th, Fri 8th, Mon 11th and Fri 15th.

My preference is the 11th.

Also, forgot to mention that there will be instructors for the day.

Cheers

Waiting patiently for an invitation by the wonderful RX8 people.

Is that sucky enough?

Oh yes and the RX8 is the best car of all time.

That straight looks awesome, and if the pictures are anything to go by, some nice easy run-offs in the event of a moment of panic - or terror!! Bring it on...

According to Google earth mesurement system, the track is roughly a 2.4km track.

Is there any reference lap time?

BTW I beat Kevin in his Echo last motorkhana, I am sure he is now seaking revenge lol

Yes, some intersting info about broadford. Its the state motorbike centre, so you can understand that the track is designed as a motorbike track. Unfortunately the safety required of a motorbike track is diferent from that of a car track. On car tracks the driver has the car as protection and so the idea is to protect people outside the car and avoid trip points (stop a car from rolling). On a bike track you have the opposite, as the rider has no real protection and the bike does a whole lot less damage than a car, the idea is to protect the rider.

Car tracks tend to have concrete walls and kitty litter, bike tracks have big wide open spaces. Unfortunately when it comes to getting a motorbike track approved by CAMS or AASA the lack of concrete walls (especially between pit lane and the track) and kitty litter means that they wont approve the track for multi car high speed events (Hill Climbs are ok).

But never fear, this is one of the reasons why we are organising this in conjunction with Kevin and Driver Dynamics.

Cheers

Andrew
