Well, you beat me to it. Darned work got in the way of my thread surfing. For a middle lands run, I know I can come up with some great stuff out in the Snoqualmie/Skykomish/Snohomish valleys. I know those roads really well Maybe meeting at Marymoore or Lake Sammamish State Park? Of course, just 'cause I suggested it doesn't mean we have to do it. I live to find new roads, so speak up, please!

i've ran those curves more times than I can count and you hardly ever get to open up, and there's cops in that area. However, there is a great lonely twisty road that goes up behind the Salish Lodge and connects to the town of Snoqualmie. Still not really much of a "tour" though. Oh, and I might be able to join this one (I'll be the resident n00b).

Welcome flomulgator! Noobs are definitely allowed... we were all n00bs once. (I've only had my 8 since Feb and been on the forum since April or so )

We used to go out to Carnation via Iss-F.C. all the time to visit friends. Some parts are great, and I never got stopped by a cop. Some parts are pretty well-populated though.

The road by Salish Lodge sounds good, and Kristopher said he'd check out the Snoqualmie/Skykomish/Snohomish valleys...

I'm waiting for Nemesis8 to come up with some ideas for a west route...

Issaquah-Fall City rd to Fall City, 203 N to Carnation (ehh, it's alright, but no the destination any who) with jaunt across Carnation Farms Rd (go ahead and let'r run) to W Snoqualmie Valley Rd (good and bad, some REALLY good though). Buzz across Tualco Valley to Ben Howard Rd for a run out to Sultan (Mann Rd continues east of Sultan with plenty of twisties, but dead-ends across the river from Gold Bar, so would require some back-tracking. We could then scoot back to Monroe on Old Owen Rd. There's a number of parks along the way for the BBQ portion of the event. I'm not entirely sure of the distance of this route (I usually shoot for just 80-100 miles total) but if necessary, I can find a way to throw a few more roads into the mix. One good extension would be running from Monroe up Old Snohomish Monroe Rd and back down High Bridge, we could even make a run out Woodinville-Duvall Rd to toss Old Woodinville Duvall Rd into the mix. That would definately be a good bit of driving.

Here's a map of the above route, with a little modification, instead of cutting across Tualco Valley, we could continue up High Bridge into Snohomish, and run Old Snohomish Monroe Rd, than make a quick jaunt S on 203 to Catch Ben Howard.

Well, that's one idea. That route would make for 70 mi on mostly 35mph speed limit roads. I figure probably 90-120 minutes. MacDonald park in Carnation would make a great BBQ and collection point after the first stint. It's really only about half an hour in, but it's the best of the parks along the route (except perhaps Lk Sammamish which I've actually never visited).

Again, this is just my suggestion, I'm sure there are others.

The stuff by Snoqualmie falls is good roads too (I'm familiar with the loop made by Mill Pond Rd and Tokul Rd) and I'm certain a route could be strung together in that area.

There's also a number of roads in East King County that go well together. You can find that by click the link in my sig. Stringing those together makes the navigation more complex (plus there's usually more traffic) but it's still good times.

The thread's still open for suggestions, so post up a route if you know one.

Why don't we meet at the Fat Burger restaurant in Issaquah, so we can avoid the Park fees. Same area, to get to FatBurger take exit 15 from I-90, take a left from the off ramp, take a right at East lake Sammamisih intersection and you will see it at the left hand side. Can we meet sometime around noon? Since I get back real early that morning from my honeymoon.
Let's get this list started...

2. 05tiGrtLdy
3. Kris D.
4. Flomulgator
5. Marquis
6.

There aren't supposed to be fees at any state parks any more. The legislature reversed that practice, and the parks dept stopped collecting a month and half ago. Are you sure about LSSP? I'll have to stop by there this week and check it out. Otherwise, there are several other parks in Issaquah.

Last I heard they were charging a $1 for parking at LSSP.

Flomulgator, have you had a chance to stitch a Snoqualmie route together?

Nemesis8, how 'bout that westerly route?

I'd love to see what others are driving. Are there any other ideas out there stuck in somebody's head?

I'd suggest taking Ames Lake -> Carnation Farm RD, then heading up 203 onto Kelly road -> Cherry Valley rd. I've done this tons of times on my bike and it's really nice.

High bridge and Ben Howard are givens if you're out in that area.
