inverted hood?

i was wondering if there was anyway to get the hood to open the other way, or, actaully, a simple way
like this

I just think that the way the hood opens is to.. normal, for this kinda car, i dont know, i love the way the hood opens on the vette and what not... just wondering if anyones done it to the rx8, or if its even possible..

why would it be worthless? you'd have more light to see what you were doing. youd have more room over the engine as the hood wouldnt be so close to your head. the Evolve had a forward opening hood- i always liked

to my knowledge no one has done it. the reason it didnt make it to production is because its expensive to make it so it will pass crash standards. the powers that be think those types of hoods open a little and then get shoved back and cut off people heads in collisions. so to do it costs extra money . the way we have it is the lightest and more cost effective way they could do it- so thats what we got instead of the heavy way

mmm, makes sence!, i just loved the stlyes ofthe hood, and i think would look really good on the Rx8, as most people are about the looks of their car (im for both, ill do performance first, looks will be a second option).. oh well thanks!

I let my bodyshop guy know about the conversion i wanted to do with the hood.
he told me to hit the junkyard and take some stuff off the early rx7(fb) and bring him the parts or see what he can do from pixs if he had to make brackets. I got lazy and never got back to him.but with enoguh money anything is possible

If it came that way from the factory it wouldnt ... but if you had to pay somebody to do it for you or spend the time to do it yourself it would not be worth the money.

just IMO

HOLY ****!!!! I actually agree with Zoom44 on something I love the front hinged hoods from the Vettes and older BMW's (among other makes & models). This would be a great mod IMO and not that expensive. When my warranty is up that will be one of the very first mods I will perform.

OEM's will use any excuse to eliminate warranty coverage....why? because is pure cost (waste) to the OEM. I would just rather leave the car is completely stock form until the warranty expires......that way they can never deny me a claim based on modifications.
