Veilside VS D1-GT vs. Mazdaspeed

Okay, I have scoured the posts for my answer, but since I am more or less looking for personal opinions of those using either of the aforementioned products. I am thinking very seriously about the Veilside VS D1-GT complete body kit, other than rear wing, and wanted to know if anyone has had good/bad experiences with it. I am running Borla Catback, so my tips are a bit larger than stock, I have read that the Mazdaspeed is the most accomodating, as far as rear exhaust profile. I definately do not want to spend the dough to have my rear underspoiler melt. So if you don't mind let me know your experieces.

Also, if anyone happens to remember, can you post your costs for having the front and rear pieces painted? I have no idea what is a decent price and want to make sure I do not get taken advantage of. I am looking at having the items painted Galaxy Grey, since Mazda has yet to make available ANY Mazdaspeed body elements in Galaxy Grey, as of this post.

Thanks again...

my car is in the shop right now getting a custom paint job on the veilside front.....so far with fitting on the VS alone and paint i have gotten quotes of 500-800...the front for some reason never fits perfect with out modification.....that will be in al of your searches....as for the rear i lucked out cuz i got the MS and it fits like stock..and as for the rear i have gotten quotes of 150-400 without fitting......i would say on average i have seen for an entire kit at a decent paint shop (no maaco job) it will run from 800 and up for everything.....but that is on the low side

Thanks, I was thinking it would be around the 1k range. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of modifications are you having to have made on the front? I noticed in the "Tokyo Drift", Neela's RX-8 front bumper doesn't quite fit snug around the side markers. I would be a bit disconcerted to spend about 800-1000k for something that does not look quite right. Granted the aformentioned car was done on a premium budget.

Gratz on the paint job and Veilside, I am sure it is going to look awesome! Wish it was my car and someones elses money, lol!

for one they probably didnt take the plastic pieces that are under the corners out and they probably needed to grind some of the bumper down by the headlights to get it flush....the bumper im installing needed work and fit almost perfect.....as for the paint job its gonna be similar to the greek guy (for the life of me i cant remember his name) but im sure you seen that sexy VR....but im gonna have a few differences in mine.....

My entire MS kit was a little over $700. Just make sure the body shop guarantees paint match.

If you go w/ the MS kit, and you don't have a silver or titanium car, a little word of advice. Don't let them spray the entire kit body color, then spray the titanium (or whatever color it is along the bottom) over the top of it. As you probably know, the front chips very easily and instead having a neutral color under the chips, your body color will show and stand out like a sore thumb until you get it touched up. Trust me, I know!

Nobody makes a clear bra kit for the MS kit yet, but another member had just the bottom lip done it still looks perfect. I highly recommend this!

Thanks I appreciate the advice. I have contacted Mazda on availability of prepainted MS kit and they do not have an ETA as of yesterday. So I guess I will wait it out. I actually found my car with all of the externals I desire online and it looks awesome, and it was with the MS kit with some minor exterior changes.
