Dirtest 8 EVER!
Dirtest 8 EVER!
I was pretty bored on Saturday and wanted to go for a cruise, so I headed towards Lake Roosevelt :screwy:. Now I didnt take the "common" or "easy" way I took highway 88 through Tortilla Flat. I started this adventure at 11:30 and stopped for lunch at Tortilla Flat at 1:30. After lunch I countinued on towards Apache Lake, which I have never been, so the road was unknown to me. Truthfully I dont even think it should be called a road, more like a trail. I had a blast doing the Canyon Lake run, especially after leaving Tortilla Flat(less traffic). I got to Lake Roosevelt at about 4:30 and snapped two pics(forgot my camera
). Then a couple of miles past Roosevelt Lake I got caught doing 75 in a 55, was lucky enough for the cop to only give me a"waste of finite resources" ticket($32, no points). All said and done I didn't get back till 6:30, but I had fun, tested my car a bit and got to see some parts I have never seen. Here is one pic I took with my phone.

That is a great road up to Tortilla flats. I don't think I would have taken my RX-8 past there but at least you had an adventure! You should try that road when all of the trucks towing their trailers are on it. It gets very crowded and narrow.
