Need some help with Wheels/Suspension

So I bought my rx-8 this past saturday. I got the base model, automatic. (insert lame automatic joke here!). Base model autos come with 16inch rims. I want to upgrade to some nice HP 18s, but I know that I'm going to also have to change the suspension or springs to lower the car to account for the extra elevation caused by the bigger rims.

My question is, does anyone have an auto rx-8 who has done this before? I know most of us are manual guys, but I wanted a change this time around. I'm pretty sure the manuals come stock with 18's, so I figure if I just find out what shocks and springs the manuals use, I can get those and have a similar ride to the sport-tuned manual RX-8s.

Any help would be appreciated.

I think the shocks are different, but if you are changing the shocks I will change the springs too.

yes, naturally if i change the shocks I would change the springs too. However if the shocks are the same, then maybe all I need to do is change the springs. that's why I want to know if they are on the same shocks.
