Smile New '06 Copper Red Shinka Owner! (Nebraska)

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself! I've been lurking here for some time now in anticipation of picking up my '06 Shinka, and tonight was the night! I'm in Omaha, NE (well actually Carter Lake, IA - but if you're from around here you'll understand) and just recently graduated from Nebraska-Omaha with a BS in Computer Science.

I'm having the spoiler as well as the rotary accents added as soon as the parts come in. I will update the album when the new parts are installed.

Click HERE for the album with all of the pictures (including my Copper Red sitting next to my friend's '04 Velocity Red!)

Here's a sneak peek:

Looks nice, all right. I'm thinkin' they should have changed the rims for '06. Not that there's anything wrong with the old ones. Just because.

It looks like there's something to the left of the glove box in one of your interior pictures (between the glove box and the radio). Am I crazy or is there something there? A switch or something? My 8 has only an insert there and the pictures on Mazda's website also show only an insert.

Nice, I seriously looked into one of those but decided to save some cash and got my Blue 05. I love the color, and under the showroom lights it looked DAMN good.

The "switch" that you are seeing is actually a small light that lights up when the passenger side air-bag is disabled.

Congrats on the purchase/ i'm another local 8 owner in good old omaha. Us local guys should get together so we don't have to drive forever to attend the bigger rx-8 gatherings. Let me know if anyone in the omaha area wants to have a gathering.

I'll be happy to take some more pics when it actually gets somewhat sunny outside

I should be getting the spoiler and rotary accents added soon so I'll post some pics of that as well.

Gorgeous! Congratulations. I haven't seen the side-by-side yet and hadn't realized how rich the new copper red is. Whew that's HOT!

I know my '05 doesn't have a passenger airbag sensor. Is this a new feature in '06? I don't see any mention of it on the Mazda web site.

I had never heard of it either until the day I picked up my car.
