Why DOESN'T Ford Bring Its European Cars to the U.S. or Canada?

I was looking at the Ford Falcon, Focus and GT that are sold in Europe in this month's Motor Trend or Car & Track (I can't remember which).

Anyways, those are very nice vehicles, with a far more youthful appeal, and accomplished powertrains than the vehicles Ford sells in the U.S. and Canada.

What is keeping Ford from bring those cars to the United States?

I think the main reason is the historical failure of the European Fords that were brought over in the 80's and 90's. I do think that it is time to try another Euro sedan on the US market as tastes have changed since the 90's IMO.
