Hey all,

I expect to be leaving the world of Miata owners and joining the world of RX-8 owners in the next week.

I'm wondering if there is an RX-8 community here in the Tampa area that does events and gatherings?

I particularly am fond of autocrossing and track events (having been spoiled when I was at California by taking my Miata to Laguna Seca).

Is there anyone here from my area who can tell me what kind of RX-8 community there is here?

It would be helpful if events and stuff were posted here as not everyone ever leaves this forum.

 

hmmm, I'm assuming that's in regards to my post above so I'll bite.

I'm not involved in organizing the various events and meets. I leave that up to the organizers to post info where ever they choose to. But yes they should be posted in both places.

RX8 club meets every Thursday beginning around 6pm at Sonics @ 4315 WEST HILLSBOROUGH AVENUE TAMPA, FL 33614. The Tampabaymiatas.net club meets at the same location on Wednesdays. Its pretty much our sister club, so you'll be in good hands.

The closest autocross events is a NASA club in St. Pete. The courses are always really tight, so you might want to check out www.gulfcoastautocrossers.com in Ft. Myers. The SCCA tour usually makes a stop there including Pro Solos.

 

Is there a Monthly comin up?

 

Yes, there is a monthly coming up. I don't know anything about it since I'll be on my honeymoon at the time. I *think* it will be in Orlando.
