looks like the side clips are sticking out too next to the clear corner. We should see that.

yup looks like theres a little gap, did you snap it in place first with the wheel well before you put the bolts back on.

The gap does look a little larger, however, I think that the 8's have a "slighlty larger than normal" gap anyway.

Yea, i had a small gap even with my aftermarket front. It wasn't until I hit a tire on the road did it get bigger.

I think I found the issue. On the passenger side, the clips near the corners look like they are not in all the way.

I haven't attempted to fix it yet. It's on my list of things to do this weekend.

I have the same gap on my passenger side, but the hoodline gap seems normal. I tried to wedge it over the white clips but it seems impossible. I'd advise you tape up the lower portion of your headlights to avoid any scratching. Good luck and let us know if you've fixed it.

I have the RX-8 front bra on my car due to all the interstate driving I do, I have noticed over time that the gap seems to get a little bigger..... I didn't know if it was the bra that did it or if its just something that happens over time.....

see the attached pic...

the bumper bar goes over those 2 clips things on the guards (circled in yellow).

that will eliminate the gaps.

i think i know what you are saying.

"clip" the top lip of the bumper bar into those yellow circled clips before secure the side indicators with the bolt into the guard.

its not hard, they are either clueless or lazy and thinking.... meh... he wont know the difference....

Hello from England (its been a while since I posted on this forum: nice to be back).

Oddly enough I noticed the very same problem described above on my car today. I'm fairly sure it wasn't there yesterday so I must presume that the clips have released of their own accord. Another owner in the UK has the same issue so I'm starting to think this is a generic fault. The attached image shows my car (driver's side of course because I'm RHD).

im pretty sure if you take off your bumper you'll know how the clips are attached. easy fix.

Hey if I was LHD my clock would be on the correct side and my driver footwell would be HUGE!!! You lucky LHDers

Well I've taken the advice of this thread (and a related bumper removal thread) and reset the clip by loosening the indicator light and pulling the whole section away before pushing it home again. It's still gappy compared to the other side but much less noticeable than in my image above. Thanks for the advice and I guess I'll be asking my dealer for a new clip.

I don't think this is so: the side of my car with a perfect gap clearly has these two 'tabs' between the two sides of the gap (bumper and lower hood - I needed a Maglite to see them though through the tiny gap). They appear to be, somewhat ironically, spacers designed to stop the once powerful clip from closing the gap too far. I tried putting them under the edge of the bumper and not only is it impossible to achieve both but even with one in place (which is possible) the main catches of the clip can't locate. They're spacers, for sure.

If you run into things with the lower corners of your bumper, these "clips" will come undone.
Usually, just putting your hand underneath them in the wheel well and pulling up until they "click" will fix it.
Also, the 4 10mm bolts that hold the bumper cover to the upeer fram member have elliptical holes so that you can adjust the hood to bumper gap.
Just pull the white body clips (after you remove the air diverter) and adjust as needed.

Actually, the clips have nothing to do with it.

They should be between the bumper and the body. so where they are is fine.

When you put the bumper on, the clip that holds it on the side (under the marker light) is oval. push bumper to desired location and tighten down. no more gap

same thing for the hood. loosen the screws holding bumper on (under Vfad cover) push as close as possible (not oval holes) and tighten.

all gaps will disapear

THREE posts up, basically what he said. didnt see that when i posted
