Mazdaspeed Replica Durability?

This is my first post on this forum. I've owned my RX-8 for a year. I was wondering how durable is the Mazdaspeed replica? Fiberglass VS. Urethane.
Do they break easily? How well do they put up against highspeeds and rocks? How long will it last me throughout the years? Any other informative information would be much appreciated.

Once again, don't bother with the replica. Neither material.

I'd stay away from the replicas if I were you. The MS wing replica comes with weak brackets that have broken for a few different people here.

Im curious as well. Im sure there are members who have replica urethane that fits well.

Like mikeb but last i seen the company he bought from is out of business.

Who currently makes the best urethane knockoff?

*raises hand* right here... yes they suck. mainly cuz of the force exerted by the trunk though.

Fiberglass, as long as too much force isn't put on it, should be fine. but paying for replica + install and fitment issues + paint. it's much easier to get authentic. less of a hassle. you'd only be saving a couple hundred, but then again over time you'll need repaint and crack fix that it is... well pointless. If you go Mazdaspeed, the authentic is by far the best option.

this is the only place I would trust a replica from.
http://www.rotaryextreme.com/msstyleurethane.html

and I would use urathane which is the same material your stock bumper is made out of.

What brand is yours Danny? I bought mine off of BIU, so it should be in next week. I know its the carbon creations one with the metal brackets, so hopefully everything will turn out fine.

I was thinking of you when I posted that but wasn't sure if you wanted me to use your name...

Just out of curiosity: Can you guys buy metal brackets? What do those go for?

The authentic metal brackets from mazdaspeed are... "really expensive". and I've emailed carbon creations because they now make metal brackets, but they won't sell it separately.

BIU had fiberglass ones but had metal brackets fabricated. It should be safer.

Rotary Extreme has metal brackets, but will not sell them separately either. Perhaps you can call Chuck up and find out who he got to manufacture them.
