scheduled maintenance

I just have a quick question, sorry if it has been asked before... for warranty purposes, does the scheduled maintenace have to be performed at a mazda dealer? Or can you get it done somewhere else as long as you keep hte documentation? I'm not talking about jiffy lube or someplace like that, maybe just another reputable auto shop. THanks a lot.

At a Mazda delearship, they have no reason to warranty any service done at another shop, and anything done outside of their "jurisdiction" can and will often be used against you when something happens.

However, it really depends on two things: what you're getting done, and your relationship with your local service department.

I would suggest getting real friendly with them. Not that I'm suggesting sucking up, but let them know who you are and let them get to know you. Cuz something WILL happen, and it's often you're relationship or lack of it with them will influence the outcome.
