Question K&N Typhoon Installation help

I'm installing this intake right now, and I've run into a problem. It seems that the holes drilled through the heat sheild are too far apart to install the vacuum canister clip.

Did anyone else with this intake find this problem?

I don't remember if I did or not but one hole is more than enough to hold a vac canister. hust crank her down and call it a day.

The holes were off about 1/8"on mine. I just put the cannister bracket on the heat shield with one bolt and drilled another hole above it.

I drilled a new one. Trim a little of the heat shield away from the back in the area of the hole, and you're in business.

what I did was I moved the plastic tube around. take the longer one, put it there. and shorter one back to the end. and it works for me for the past couple of months.

I have no Idea what K&N was thinking, its WAY off the right position. where is the Quality Assurance in the first place ? (their filter setup is good, but this tiny position problem really annoyed me at first ...)
