Suuuure. Are you reading in the right forum? and yes if you want a mean sound then get the K&N intake... Of course this will also mean you'll get less horsepower due to heatsoak.

as long as you realize that you are buying a noisemaker and does absolutely nothing for performance.

I made a box for mine and it's not so loud now unless you punch it a full throttle. I definately feel a difference in torque and hp.

well the old one loses horsepower... not the new one... I forgot the part # but if it comes in color it's the old one... the new one is only available in carbonfiber i believe... I know thas the one i got... as yes it's loud as hell... I installed it in my garage at like 3 am... me being so excited i jumped right in the car and rev'd it to 9k... lets just say the neighbors were not happy... it's loud... but if your driving at low rpm's u dont notice it...

yea u wind up losing gas mileage because you are so eager to hear the sound.... and I love people who love to shut down other people... do you have the kn intake... and if so did u dyno yours... and you are probably right... i highly doubt it gets anywhere near the 10hp kn "guarentees", but if you do want to mod your car i doubt u will end there... as one mod it doesnt produce much like how the sti gets like 20 off the intake... but combined with an air duct , nology wires, exhaust and the whole nine is a start....

The intake sounds mean especially when you are passing under a overpass. I don't know about you guys but I can feel a slight gain on mines. above 3500 rpms it starts to growl.
