Picture-posting Help

Hello all. I am fairly new to this site although I have owned my RX-8 for almost a year now. I just purchased a new digital camera and I am trying to post some pictures on this website (avatar, etc...). For some reason, when I try to post pics, the site tells me my pics are too big. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with this problem. Thanks a lot.

You'll have to resize them. Avatar has to be 100x100 pixels and make sure it's in jpeg format. There is a file size limit so animated .gifs may or may not work. As for pics, again there is a file size limit, I can't remember what, but it tells you when you get the error that it's too big.

I would recommed something like Infranview
http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2192-10021962.html
It's a free photoeditor and makes resizing really easy. A jpeg of 1024x780 should always be under the file size limit.

If you can't figure it out, PM me and I can resize them for you.

Once you have loaded the picture in Infranview. Press Ctrl-R or go to the Image drop down menu and select resize/resample.

you can also upload them to photobucket (it's free). that site will automatically resize them to fit on their server, then you have the option of resizing them again once they are loaded.
