by the time you get it to fit one of these will be more cost effective:

http://www.racingbrake.com/MAZDA_Brake_Kits_s/4344.htm

just because it came from the factory with "BREMBO" painted on the side doesn't make it superior, no different than a factory stereo that says "BOSE".

So far the stock is already good enough for track use

They are good, but they overheat under repeated hard braking.

so is the BBK in the link I posted above, which is also 24 lbs lighter than the OE front brakes and probably lighter than the OE 350Z Brembos pkg too:

finished product, I got one of the first sets, haven't installed it yet:

Upgrade your fluids, pads and do the DIY brake duct mod. Upgrading brakes is not simply bolt-on if u are worried about brake balance.

I have done all of the above with the exception of the brake duct mod. I had planned on doing something similar as soon as the weather gets better, I live a block outside Chicago city limits and it is still cold. In addition, I decided to go with a four piston caliper so that my rotors and brake pads would wear more evenly as well as shedding some unsprung weight. I have not had an opportunity to test this kit on the track yet but so far I do not believe the balance of the car has been altered. I put a fair degree of research into every purchase I make to be sure that I am not throwing away my money. Racing Brake's kit was the most comprehensive kit and at the time of my purchase (pre-order) had the best value per dollar. Balance was something I was concerned with when I made my purchase and my concerns were addressed on their message board. Also, Racing Brake offers a 30 day money back gaurantee, which is why I installed my kit as soon as I got it. I appreciate your concern but I think I have got it covered.

I am aware of the mod as I stated before, but I would like to fabricate something a little more polished.

you want brembos that will bolt on? Here http://www.mazdatrix.com/8brakes2.htm Then get you some 2 piece rotors and you be game. From taking with people that actually track their 8's (good win racing is one of them) He recommends just going with a 2 piece rotor, ss brake lines and better fluid.

It's less expensive to buy the RacingBrake kit, especially for those of us who did so during the 25% off pre-sale

as far as fabrication goes, I do my own share of it, but not everyone has access to the equipment. Paying someone else to do one-off stuff is rarely feasible if it's already offered as a production piece

Actually that's a good deal. I just saw the top one and didn't pay attention to the other pacagages. The best part is that they fit on the stock rims. But something to take under consideration is the cost of replacement rotors. I didn't check on that at racing brakes but I know is a lot easier to replace a factory rotor than a aftermarket one.

Replacement rotor rings are about $400 for the front right now.

that's for both on the BBK kit, $190 each for the OE size, but note that the RacingBrake rotor rings are made from much superior material than OE or OE replacement rotors, even their own, the 2-pc rotors are designed for the stress and heat of track racing, so IMO a good deal for the cost

what DIY is that? i did a "brake" search in the DIY section, and nothing like this came up.

i did find one hypothetical thread by RG talking about possibly installing some electric superchargers to blow air over the brakes. is that what you were referring to?

I don't remember the thread title but it was a simple installation of tubing or hose extending from the front of the car and direct air to the brake rotor.
