I know I ask this all the time and no one ever shows up... but every sat nite, if you have ever drove past 8pm near downtown you know all the cars meet up to bs and show off... basically I dont feel like being the only 8 there once again...It usually happens like this... everyone meets up on Colonial near downtown... after a while head up to S. OBT... then after that the racing usually starts... we have a couple of good places that are clean... but if anyone is interested let me know...

 

There are monthly orlando/tampa meets in different locations.. there's one in tampa on march 4th, i think they are looking for ideas for a feb meet too..

 

well im talkin about every saturday in general... i know im going tonite... im not tryin to set up a big rx8 meet... i'd just like for a couple of 8's to show up..

 

Ah, hate to leave ya hangin, but that's just not my crowd. I dropped by the meet across from UCF and despite the couple of guys there who were fairly cool, I didn't really enjoy myself. I'm gonna just stick to setting up meets with my friends on the boards. You should drop by one of those!

Every saturday night you can find me at 'the corner' its the corner of Orange Ave and Colonial (SR50) right by Colonial and I4. There are actualy 3 corners. The stereo tint shop where the american cars meet up and Mama' B's where the imports meet up. There is also the 3rd corner where ricers park, sometimes its over flow for cars that cant get spaces anywhere else. The Bikes also park there. It used to be a spot where all the fastest cars in orlando showed up to race and talk **** before they went out and ran. Now its turned into more of a get together although people still plan races. No one races at the corner, so no need to worry about getting in trouble, sometimes cops part there to hang out and watch for people running the redlight there (happens all the time as drunks leave downtown) they dont mind us.

The thing with the corner is that most people dont show up till later. Im talking like 10pm. Thats when I get there, bettween 945-10p every sat, and im usualy up there till midnight or 1am. Around then is when people go out and race. I have taged along and watched, but being stock, you get left behind the 400-800+ hp cars. I usualy go down there to hang out and talk ****. Check out the cars and just BS for a few hours.

Sometimes later at night we walk down to the bars (about a 15 mins walk downtown, totaly safe) and get a few beers.

I almost always have the RX8 down there, but sometimes we take the girlfriends RSX.

We had a meet yesterday with over 67 cars in attendance and only four RX-8's.

I have a friend who drove down from Orlando yesterday to attend our meet.

SOFLA RX-7 CLUB, you may want your friend to catch the March RX-8/RX-7 meet in Clearwater. It should be pretty large. It is under the thread titled "March meet & Ybor". There are many RX-7s locally that chat on Tamparacing.com under the Mazda thread and meet weekly. The flrx8club.net is a site for the RX-8s to also meet and communicate.
