All I have to say about this is, either the C6 driver didn't know how to take turns, or he was just dicking around with these guys, because it seemed like if it weren't for the straights, the RX-8 would have passed him inevitably.

well. a vette sucks at handling. everybody knows that. i have to say that the driver in the 8 is pretty good compared to the one in the c6. that guy in c6 probably doesn't know the fastest way to push his car.

 

Dont look like the C6 was trying to run from them but just enjoying the track.

 

yeah, the guy driving is TrackAddict, he has posted this here before. He is a really good driver. Probably the best in our local club. He is trying to work up to becoming an instructor with NASA-SE. He really knows how to get everything out of the 8 on a track.

The C6 is a great handling car with gobs of power and grip so do not think the RX8 is a better car. I had seen the driver of the C6 at a few other track days so he was not a novice, but obviously not a pro either. He was also not sightseeing. We spoke after that session. He was very surprised that I was reeling him in. He was doing as best as he could. Spin9K and others with track time can testify how well the RX8 fares on track compared to other cars. Maybe it is a lot easier to drive this car comapared with others. I don't know since all my track time is with the RX8.

 

The C6 is hardly a bad handling car, it handles better than an RX8.

 

That corvette driver has serious issues with the stop pedal.

looks like the RA-1's are doing a great job at holding the road, allowing you to carry through the turns at a MUCH faster speed than the C6, nice run

 

Corvette's and Viper's have way too much horsepower and torque! they get squirrelly in 3rd too

 

bite your tounge son! too much hp and torque, bah!!!!

 

difference in the skill of drivers, the c6 can easily outrun the 8

The vette blew some lines which helped your cause. I'm wondering did you not try to pass him because of rules or because you couldn't? It seems like a few times, espcially in the left hander towards the end of the lap you could have gotten closer and tried to pass.

 

It looks like a lapping day. Usually there is no passing unless you are waived passed.

I think they where not being completive and just haveing a day at the track.
