Anyone know anything about this? Sorry if this has been discussed earlier, I tried searching but came up empty handed.....

 

well 2 possibilities:

the M3 is modified.. sleeper look.. which could be a possibility but doesnt look like it..IMO

or the rx-8 is auto and hence slow disgrace!


the 8s definetely not a drag car.. i have a hard time inching away from slightly modded 240SXs (exhaust intake) and Type S..
this car isnt quick.. just fast so it will keep up.. but dont expect to do fly bys..

 

Or the guy driving the 8' is ...93 and asleep

The RX-8 was neck and neck with a Mazda 3....ummmm ok.

 

The Stig on Top Gear had the exact same time around a track for an M3/350Z and an RX-8.

 

Neck and neck? It lost! Was the guy in the rx-8 not pushing it or what?

that time was with a BMW M3 not a Mazda 3.

 

Well I know at the track here in Las Vegas,NV some guys let there buds run there car. So you see the car do a good run then on the 2nd pass its like WTF was he thinking? So you never know.

 

1 - their is no M3 in that clip.
2 - I can explain this... they're euro trash. simple.

Yeah, let's not call the Mazda 3 an M3, it's not cool.

 

the 8 should have easily handed the m3 it's *** if it was stock to stock. I 've driven m3's and they are not that fast. But drag racing in the 8 is like sticking your whole hand in your mouth, pointless...

 

you have driven mazda3's.

 

The Mazda 3 must be boosted or something, look at the mega torque steer when it jumps off the line. I don't see a standard Mazda 3 doing that.

And a M3 is a BMW.

 

I'm guessing the RX8 was auto.

I own both, I love LOVE LOVE both, but the RX8 is clearly in another league as far as speed goes.

its a common term on the mazda forums.. just like we call it an 8 as an abb.
