Does anyone have just 1 10" sub with around 300 watts and around a 500 or 600 watt amp? I would just like to know if there is much rattling and if dynomatting would be needed if I got a 4080 box. And since the box sits right under the trunk, I am worried that the trunk is going to start rattling. Thanks!

 

I will be Dyno-matting this weekend. I just installed a 10" JL W1 with an Alpine MRP-M350 amp and I seem to have a little Getto rattle kickin.... My box sits in the well and is almost flush (just sits up an inch)

 

How much do you think it would cost if I had it done someplace? Just for the minimal dyno... just enough to stop the rattling?

i have 2 10w6v2 jl's running a 500/1 jl amp... theres rattling.. i need to dynamatt soon... i was recomended raammat bxt.... from reviews looks good

 

i have 2 400 watt (RMS) 10in. sony Xplods (P.O.S. subs, but looking to upgrade soon) powered by a Sony Xplod class D 500 watt (RMS) amp. my trunk and license plate rattle quite a bit and find it rather annoying. soooo, dynAmatting is a must for me as well. how much would it go for just in materials?

 

i have two 12's in my car and the only thing that really irritated me was the license plate so as a temporary quick fix i took the soft, not the scratchy side of some velcro i had laying around and put it on the back of the plate and it stopped the rattle perfectly cost about 10 cents, ha

 

for the license plate, i have spongy stuff that i'm thinking of using, but i think after time it will wear off and start to flake off the back of the plates and look nasty like.

 

I recommend you check out Second Skin Audio. It's a lot better than dynamat, and the owner of the company is a really great guy.

 

I would recomend dynamat for any size/ power sub. Also, if the dynamat is not going to be visible don't bother using actual dynamat, Use what is called Juke padding (I think that is how you spell it) I got some at a local trim and interior shop near me. $21 for 9 feet by 3+ feet. Pretty much just like dynamat only a tenth of the cost and no sliver heat shield.
The sound improvment it made on my '91 Cherokee was incredible (just a 2x2 ft. square behind my 12" sub).

 

My 1 10" sub with 500W RMS in a 4080 box produces rattling primarily on the rear deck, and a bit on the roof headliner towards the back. The trunk is pretty small and doesn't seem to rattle really all that much. I get a little rattle in the rear right side door as well on certain frequencies.

So, IMO, not much rattling, and you don't NEED dynamatting. You can start by getting the sub/box and then alleviating any problem spots once you have your system in.

 

Second Skin Audio is an excellent place. I also recommend Raammat BXT, from Raam Audio, which I use myself. The owner there is also a great guy, very helpful w/ any questions.

Seriously, don't buy Dynamat the brand, it's a waste of $, when you have Second Skin and Raammat.

 

Thanks a lot. Even with my Bose system I get rattling in the doors and it is extremely annoying. I am getting 1 12" sub put in on Saturday. How many square feet of product would I need to do both doors and my trunk? And, is there a major difference in the dampening spray and the mat?
