New Lamborghini Miura

We all know the original Miura was one of the best looking cars of all time.
see....

Now, rumour has it that Lambo wants to revive the legend. Here are some recent photos of what that revival might look like...

Is it a good looking car, sure. Do I think they should bring back the name and apply it to a retro styled car, no way jose. Rumour also has the engine being a 6.5L V12 with 600+ hp. Thoughts?

Those pics are older. I believe. I've seen them before, kinda has murci headlights right? I would cry if that was brought back with the Miura name.

Yeah, it lost a lot of that muscular look that the old car had, which is a shame. It seems to lack character in the newer incarnation. If they can fix that, I think it'll be great.

I've also seen this one, which personally, I think is hideous. It looks like a photoshop ford gt to me though.

Ford did a spectacular job reviving the old GT40 and making it even sexier than it was. Lamborghini, not so good, the redesign feels cold and contrived.

He didn't say it was called the GT40, he said Ford revived the GT40, which they did. Sorry :p

Original Miura Roadster for you TransAmkid. Does look incredible. The new one just lacks the character of the old.

does anyone else here find the 'fastback' rear portion in the first set of photos to be absolutely horrendous? i know its not extreme or anything, but it resembles the top-rear of the murcielago, which i now associate with the backside of a friggin cockroach. just my pair of sheckles.

ps-i actually think the first concept shown by blueeyes looks much better than the murcielago in regard to what i stated above...

No one took the name out from under Ford's nose. Ford sold the tooling and the name to a racing company that still produces the original GT40 for race teams. Who would have ever thought that retro race cars from the sixties would be the automotive zeitgeist of the 2005/6. Seriously, back in the sixties, people thought we would flying around in huver-cars(sp?) by the year 2005. Ford GT.....GT40.....who cares what it's called........it's one badass ride.

The front of the yellow retro Miura concept kinda looks like the old Porsche 959 to me.

Scratch the ugly chromed rims and the silver painted side skirts (altough the original Miura had them too) and the car is absolutely beautiful.
