That car kept it's shape amazingly well. As old as that vehicle is, it did spectacular. This belongs in the lounge by the way.

i have the book on the mclaren f1, i think it's called Driving Ambition...and in it they say that THAT car was the first to do THAT test and drive away with the steering and suspension in perfectly functional order...

Now that was funny - the subtitles was in Swedish!
In short they state that the carbon fiber front has been molded to bend in order to cusion the impact - and, as stated above, it was the only car ever that was able to be driven after the test.
