Black Mazda Nose Guard

Hey guys, I have a nose guard I purchased from the dealer thinking I would put it on my 8, but now I'm thinking I won't put it on after all and just sell it on Ebay. Do many of you use the guards?

No, not for in city driving but if I ever take (and I hope to) my 8 on a road trip I'll make sure not to put a wheel on the highway without BUG PROTECTION.

What happens with that....does it permanently stain, or leave marks or something

From what I understand, if the car is clean and waxed when the guard is installed, there's no problem; however, I would think that if it were on all the time for quite a while that there might be a difference in the color matchup, especially if the car were exposed to the sun a lot. I really don't know. Of course it would have to be removed when washing the car. I'm just thinking that I don't want to cover up that beautiful front end!

Yeah, just stick to having that thing on when taking trips but not daily.

I have the front bra - I only use it on long raod trips. Make sure you clean and wax the front clip before using the bra. It fits really snug. What to watch out for, is if you get caught in the rain. Take it off at night, and bring it inside to clean and dry it before putting it back on to continue your road trip. Do not leave it on in the bright sun all day just baking away either. Your paint will fade differently under the bra if left on all the time.

Hope that helps

yep, thanks for the info. i still think i might just sell it though. by the way, have you heard about a transparent mask that adheres to the car and is pretty much invisible? the mazda service shop told me a couple of 8 owners here in town had had it down at the local toyota dealership. also, i think the lexus dealership is offering it. apparently it is on all the time so you wash and wax it...i believe it sells for around $300.00 and is installed by them.

I met an FD owner at Sevenstock7 that has a '93 red mint condition black leather interior RX7. He hooked up with us in San Fran on the caravan South.

Guess what he had on his car? A leather bra. I asked him if his FD wore that all the time, and his comment was hell no. Only on long road trips up and down the I5 raceway.

Of course, he was my age also

So, it does have a limited use purpose for us old guys...

I have one and keep it on 24/7 to thwart the nasty stones and sand that can quickly destroy the paint. Don't particularly like the looks of it, but when I take it off at shows, the front end is pristine.

Ya the clear bra is the way to go. You wanna show off those nice headlights you know? as long as you don't stare at it too long, you won't notice it as much.
