Thumbs up Ok, order in Dec for April Delivery!

I've pretty much confirmed this now. You can being orders in December for an early spring delivery (which makes sense approx 6 mnths for a build to spec).

So I may just go this route and get the Tit GT with Moon no NAV that I have been looking for!

I'll just order her up Hopefully it's not like the initial pre-order that just goes ***** and they send whatever they feel like!

I turned down a non-demo red GT with moonroof today so I can order my exact spec and receive it at a more ideal time. No more fretting about finding one. I've got an October order date with a late December delivery. I figure if there's any delays I should still have it for early spring worse case scenario.

That's great.

Do you know by any chance whether those who be sold as 2005 models ?

Because this is what the Sales car at my dealer are telling me. The ones that are being sold in 2004 will be sold as 2005 models.

I cannot be sure but I think they did the same thing with the Mazda6, sold them as 2003 in 2003 and sold them as 2004 in 2003. Can someone please verify, thanks !

You turned one down? Where?

Awww fooey, my lease takeover chance fell through.

I'm going to call my leasing company tomorrow to see what the penalty is to get out.

Probably impossible, otherwise others would just do that rather than takeovers.

Nope - in the US, the current Mazda6 is a 2003 model which went on sale in late 2002. In Canada, they held back the intro of the Mazda6 until mid-January 2003 so that it could be called a 2004 model. So while the US Mazda6s on the lots now are 2003s, ours are 2004s! The regulation is that a designated model year can not be sold over more than one calendar year changeover (ie Jan 1). Theoretically, a 2004 model that went on sale Jan 2, 2003 could be sold until Dec 31, 2004, ie 23.9 months! Typical model cycles are to introduce the new model year in late summer or early fall for a 12 month period, but often a manufacturer will introduce a entirely new model in spring and sell it for 18 months before switching in fall to the next model year.

Regards,
Gordon

Wing, I've learned that it often doesn't matter how good the item you're selling is (deal wise) or how many people line up saying they want to buy your offering - it almost always falls through. Probably because guys like to shop just like women, but unlike women, we don't always pull the trigger.

I would have loved to go for the RX-8, but then I'd have the Protege sitting around with 26 months of payments left and I wouldn't be enjoying the RX-8 because of that. To trade the car in would have added close to $4K to an already high $49K RX-8 bill. I love the RX-8, but for me it's not worth to pay a $4K trade-in penalty just to enjoy it for the remained of this shortening summer. Ordering the car will buy me time to ditch the Protege (hopefully).

Besides I really liked the silver I saw in Hawesbury, and for performance/AutoX reasons, I really don't want the extra 35lbs of weight overhead from the sunroof.
