burning smell

Hey guys, just got in from putting on my winter's and i much they are a great improvement... went with the ws50's... but my question is, when i pulled into my driveway and shut off the engine i got a burning smell... it was pretty stong and i really don't know what it is... Kind of smells like oil is burning, just wondering if this is normal and what i should do about it?
Thanks alot

Not normal for sure. Check the mufflers and exhaust pipes for a melted plastic bag. This car seems to suck those things up for some reason.

Are you sure it's not a rubber smell? If you drove hard on the tires it could be from that.

The first thing that comes to mind is clearance problems. Are these tires wider or taller than stock? I'd check all sides of all the tires to make sure they are not rubbing somewhere.

Been there done that!

Look underheath for a leak near the crossmember for oil....I have had 2 leaks so far....first was the rear main seal...they found it by removing the starter and the area between engine and trans was "full of oil"....second time was the tranny seal...same gross smell....
good luck!
P.S. month later all is well even after a 1000mi trip to AZ and back....

Well if your car has warranty, then you should go check it out for free while you still can

You just got the car...when I just got the car I burned the clutch more than I should have. Are you sure you aren't doing just that?

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago. I took it into the shop and it turned I picked up a plastic bag driving down the highway. It had instantly melted to the exhaust and pipes. I live in soCal and the highways are filthy.

It had an electrical odor, not oil. good luck
