Speaking of Mitsu RalliArts, there's the EVO IX version too
To compliment the Eclipse RalliArt thread. Here's some information on the USDM version of the EVO IX MR RalliArt. There already was a JDM version, but now there's one in the US too.

Funny how Mitsu will sell a modded EVO or sell the RalliArt parts to mod one. But the second you do mod the car, the warranty is void. And those cars seem to break just as often as the 3rd gen RX-7 did, especially the early '03 EVO VIIIs.

For the record I didn't have alot of issues with my 3rd gen--it had 88,000 miles on the stock internals--had to redo the vacuum hoses but that was it, and it was lightly modded. The 3rd gen had its weaknesses--but alot of those premature engine replacements and all came from poor tuning of modders. Not saying the FD was a Civic, but c'mon.
Just to clarify, that Ralliart Evo IX above isn't something you can actually buy "as is" from a dealer. Rather it's an example of all the Ralliart parts soon to be available for the USDM Evos. As it is right now, the Ralliart stuff Evo owners buy comes from Japan with instructions in Japanese. For example, I bought a Ralliart shift console cover like the one in the pic below. Still fits like crap even though I was initially told it would bolt up with "OEM fitment". Turns out all the pics on USDM Evos of it fitting perfectly forgot to mention they also purchased an entire JDM console to sit underneath it.

If you'll notice, I used the word "seem" in my original comment, not stating anything as fact. Nor am I simply making stuff up. Geez, you WRX & EVO owners need not be so sensitive.
I like the EVO, but the local dealer told me any modded EVO's get no warranty. From the research I've done on EVO forums, biggest gripe seems to be trying to get Mitsu to honor warranties when things break, especially modded EVOs. The crappy service that many owners seem to bitch about, plus my lack of trust from the local dealer, is enough to keep away from the EVO. But I still like it. Also, I owned a 3rd gen RX-7 new from the get go, and yes it had its share of problems. Not saying all FD's are like that, not saying all EVO's are like that either.
Now let's get back to what you guys think of the RalliArt.

2.) You brought up mods and reliability in the first place.
3.) It "seems" you are full of **** and just pull information out of your ***.

4.) If your local dealer told you that then clearly it's true in all case.
5.) Why the hell would you even compare an FD to an Evo, the strongest part of the Evo is probably the engine, which is probably the weakest for the FD.

They also have on-site AWD dyno, parts shop and tuning "advisors". The owner's kid races a 500hp Evo (with a sunroof
) and they use other modded Evo owners as references when it comes time to decide where you wanna take your car to be tuned.Every dealership is different. Some Mitsu service departments see the Evo as a PITA because of the narrow profit margins, turbo charger, tunability and the complexity of the drivetrain. Others see it as a huge aftermarket opportunity. It's something people need to notice when they buy the car.

i distinctly remember there was an autoweek article on the evo, about warranty woes, where its common practice where mitsu dealers were looking up SCCA lists and voiding the warranty of owners who were competing in their EVO. Im too lazy to dig through my big *** pile of old autoweek magazines, but i think thats the jest of it. Im not sure if it talked about waranty being voided because of mods alone. but i dont think so. -this article is what caused all the commotion about mistubishi waranty voiding, then things got out of hand as people pass along the info and started making up stuff about it.
as far as mods voiding warranty, its not just a mitsu issue, its pretty consistent accross the industry, Mazda dealers arnt much different in that regard compared to mitsu dealers.
