Woohoo, between the football, Top Gear and those 10.00pm movies about, ahem, umm, you know..., there won't be any need to change channels.

It won't be the full version. It will just be the old ones that are screen in the US... I think there is a link to the finalgear.com but I can't find it at present.

So whatever the US is screening - we get the same - which I have seen all already

BTW WATCH THE STIG

We've been watching what I think is the latest series on Foxtel's BBC Channel the last few weeks. It's on 7:30pm Saturday nights as well as other times. I'm not sure whether I prefer it to the English motoring show Fifth Gear which shows on the Lifestyle Channel, but appears to be in recess at present. Fifth Gear is possibly more authoritative, although the production isn't so good. It also has Vicki-Butler Henderson, who should be a role model for aspiring chick track drivers. She is a seriously quick driver. http://fifthgear.five.tv/jsp/5gmain.jsp?lnk=400

I am a sucker for British accent, ever since the date I had with the British OS Medical Student in HK....

I love the way she drives too, not exactly effective in timing (!) But it is pretty enough to watch on the tele

Vicki on Fifth Gear is great, and I also recall for a while Top Gear had Jodie Kidd -- a model -- and seriously fast driver, too -- presenting. But that may have been a few series ago.

Since Clarkson has hurt his back... I think there will be some driving from the German chick Anna Smit?? She is not bad looking and extremely fast.

I want to see her head to head with the Stig.

Has anyone seen the Drive car show? It looks like a combination of Top Gear and Fifth Gear without the humour and production values. It even has a dark helmeted driver called the Chip! It looks a little lame (especially the studio audience)

havent seen it yet.... it is a lower budget production and dont think they will be able to test drive as many extoic cars than TG and 5G

BTW, if you missed the show on TV, you can catch it on the drive.com.au website as a streaming video feed. It is in 4 parts.

Nothing could be lamer than the Car Show on Channel 9 with that sad ex-gameshow host and his prettyboy sidekick :gay: . Even the attempted 'blonde chick' is a barker.

And instead of 'The Stig' they have 'The Suit', who's no more than a penpushing nerd trying to look tough.

Trust me, you won't get that half hour of your life back and you would be far more profitably employed doing other things, like assessing the likelihood of the Victa being required that weekend.

I remember the Car Show. Their idea of a review was to virtually read out the brochure from the car manufacturer. I remember they reviewed one of the MX-5's. They had it puttering around an anonymous road doing about 45km/hr - a great demonstration of the car's capability. Great stuff! I don't think the show lasted long on Channel 9.

07:30 pm DOCUMENTARY SERIES - TOP GEAR

Top Gear is a high octane mix of performance cars, adrenalin, comedy and celebrities. It's the BBC motoring magazine that test drives and brutally appraises the world's most popular cars with startling honesty, along with celebrity laps, irreverent wraps and breathtaking stunts and driving. In this episode, the Aussie Holden Monaro is tested against the best of British and American car technology on a Welsh beach. Along with car tests and comparisons, news and reviews, Top Gear features well-known celebrities trying for the fastest lap on the race track. With its three presenters, Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond being egged on by a studio audience, Top Gear is an entertaining car show that features the latest and fastest cars.
